As per CBC: To catch a killer, Murdoch and Crabtree pretend a murdered witness is still alive.

I love how this is titled after "Weekend at Bernie's". Only, this probably isn't going to culminate in a weekend bender/rager. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed about that or not...

I loved this episode and it's my favourite of S10. It was hilarious and had all the right ingredients of a classic MM episode: entertaining story, Jilliam kisses/romance/flirting, Crabtree & Higgins comedy duo, morgue humour from Julia and Rebecca, hilarious guest characters, a fun wrap-up to the crime, and a great last scene. Literally the only thing the episode was missing was Brackenreid, but so much was going on that I barely noticed his absence this week.
The concept was morbid but it worked because they used an unlikable but funny recurring character. And it's kind of fitting that Roger Newsome died because of one of his lies and his knack from getting in the middle of murder cases. He was pushing his luck, but I think he would've liked to have gone out like that and have Crabtree eulogize him.

I honestly have to say - this episode was a laugh-riot!! Everything about it was absolutely hilarious! I could hardly stop grinning and laughing from the opening shots to the end. It really was perfect!!

Alas, I am tired and can't expound much at the moment, but this was a great episode, and for sure my fave of season 10 so far, which has been (as most of have agreed) a very good season so far. I enjoyed it throughly, and I can't wait for a chance for a repeat viewing to notice more. I've always hated Weekend at Bernie's, but I quite enjoyed the Murdochian take on it. Nicely done!

What I find interesting is that the writer acknowledges that Henry should have been fired, and didn't redeem him either-or at least this week. Is this some foreshadowing for some changes?

This was the funniest episode of the entire show. I hate slapstick but I think this episode used it to perfection, I actually laughed out loud and I don't even do that with supposed comedy shows. Some scenes I laughed every time I saw them especially when Roger hit George in the face. We also had some romance too. Why does it take a YOUNG MALE writer to give us this amount of romance and lovely interaction between W/J? I loved the hair scene in the morgue too. I really enjoyed last weeks episode but this was the best episode of the season!

I don't like what they've done to Henry's character the last two seasons but I hope they don't get rid of him; it wouldn't be the same without him.

I don't like what they've done to Henry's character the last two seasons but I hope they don't get rid of him; it wouldn't be the same without him. Crabtree, William, and Brackenreid should all by rights have been fired by now. They've all done things that would realistically get them fired and/or jailed over the seasons. Even Julia and Emily have broken rules in the past. It's the nature of the show and I have no problem with Higgins. Yes, he let Newsome leave, but he did sneak out while Higgins was asleep. George could also be in big trouble for not making sure Higgins was alert and Newsome couldn't sneak out. They both messed up, but it was necessary to the story. They couldn't of had the story without Newsome being a dead witness. It's nothing in the grand scheme of the story or show. Higgins was hilarious in this episode and if they bring back Newsome's sister then it allows for more laughs in the future. I don't think Higgins is particularly different to how he's always been. He's great as a comedy duo with George.

It was obvious in this episode that George is interested in Miss Cherry and the feeling seemed a bit mutual. He has chemistry with her, they have more in common, and he's more himself around her. I have a feeling we'll be seeing Miss Cherry again and it will spell trouble for his romance with Nina.

I also really enjoyed this episode.....I think I laughed more on the second viewing, because I was anticipating things, like the punch thrown by the dead Roger.....I have the feeling Roger has a very similar cousin, because I wouldn't want to have seen the last of male Mimico Newsomes.....Cyrus Lane was priceless as Roger.....nice connection with past episodes, with bringing Stanley Farber back from Walk on the Wild Side, and the Crown Council was played by the murderer from Dinosaur Fever. My only quibble is the lack of Brackenreid.....I can just imagine his reaction to the whole situation and some of the lines he would have come up with.....the banter between William and Julia was great too....

For me there was too much going on to miss Brackenreid. I will miss Roger Newsome, annoying as he was, I hope we get to meet his cousin. Not sure about his sister but I'm anxious to see A Murdog Mystery where I believe we'll meet her again. I'm also interested in that ep to see how they handle the dog show! I was wondering where Chief Crown Attorney Gordon was as I like his character, I wasn't too impressed with whatever the Crown Prosecutor's name was but perhaps it's just that I'm not a fan of Geordie Johnson, he's an actor I never see in character. Loved W/J in this ep and W's comment about feeling like he was being interrogated and J's reply of she felt she was being lied to! Love this playfulness. I'm not surprised to find W still goes back to Mrs. Kitchen's I wonder if he sees her as a mother figure.
