Facebook, particularly MMAS (Murdoch Mysteries Appreciation Society), yes, there really is one, has been blowing up today in response to Shantelle's blog yesterday. Read it here:
www.shantellebisson.com/2016/12/, the one entitled "This isn't meant as a spoiler but..."
She is responding to a fan who attended Yannick's evening in Brantford and was so upset by something Yannick talked about that she sent a scathing note to him, implying that because he had done something in his youth that he was a terrible father. I love it when Shantelle goes all mama-bear, even for her husband. Anyway, a friend of mine has come up with a response to show our support for Yannick and his family. She posted this to FB this morning:
Hi all, as many of you are probably aware, Yannick Bisson is a huge supporter of the children's charity www.childhoodcancer.ca a very important and worthwhile cause.
Yannick was recently sent a very nasty letter from a "fan". I realize that inappropriate comments and letters are sometimes part of the reality of working in the public eye, but this letter was particularly hateful and mean. If you want more details you can read his wife Shantelle's blog (December 6th entry) and see how she handled it. Good for her!
During this Christmas Season I was thinking of a way that we can respond and bring some good out of a hurtful sad situation. I have made a donation in honour of Yannick Bisson to childhoodcancer.ca
I am suggesting that as many of us who are able to do the same. You can donate as much as you can afford.
Once you have made your donation, send a tweet to Yannick and Childhood Cancer letting them you know you made a donation in his honour. If we all us the hashtag #AwesomeDad in our tweet, they should all link up. I thought it would be a nice way to give to a charity, and say thanks to Yannick for all he does, as well as bringing good out of one person's very unkind words.

I just wanted to share this in this forum to see if maybe we can spread some more love Yannick's way.
