Well that certainly was a light-hearted little jaunt!
I rather enjoyed this episodes. Though to be honest I have no idea what Detective Watts was up to - undoubtedly though it will rear it's ugly little head later in the season. Maybe the blonde woman is Sally Pendrick or Anna? But whatever - I'm pretty sure what ever it is he is chasing is will come back around. Brackenried would have had a hoot with this - especially with Murdoch and the dog.
Murdoch and Pistachio had me cracking up the whole way! I particularly loved Flustered!William in the beginning especially with his "Ug Rich People" complaint. And I'm sorry Henry being dragged out by Miss. Newsome and William just being completely oblivious was just downright hilarious.

I wonder if Watts has stumbled into Julia helping former patients get away from abusive situations, and he'll stick his foot in it by exposing their whereabouts......
I think this episode suffered from following such an intense one as last week's. It was fun and light hearted (even if a doggy, especially a nice big Newfoundland got poisoned), but it was bound to be a bit of a let down......
Watts irritates me.....
Interesting theory, I like it! It was definitely too light after last week's, something with a good mystery but not as dark leading into a lighter ep next week would have felt better. He irritated me too at first but I think I like the juxtaposition of someone rather like the "old" W with W of today; and W having to work with someone as annoying as he used to be to Brackenreid. Does that make sense? Overall, I am a little disappointed with this episode. I imagine it was meant to be a palate cleanser after the intensity of last week. I often find myself wishing that Julia had gotten more screen time, and this week was no exception. But this time I had the added problem of being more interested in the B plot. I immediately assumed the blonde woman was Julia. It is probably Sally or some yet-to-be-introduced character. I miss the old days when William and Julia interacted more and there was more passion between them. I suppose I was subconsciously hoping that Julia being a suspect in Watts' case would bring that about. I also thought William's reaction was strange when Julia and Det. Watts exchanged greetings. The exchange seemed brief and unremarkable but William looked annoyed/surprised by it. What was that about?

I think we needed something in between and a lighter episode next week. However, PM knows best and so we got this rather strange episode about showdogs that look nothing like great representatives of their breeds and a B plot that was more interesting than the A plot. I too miss those days but I think they're gone for good. Oh for S6 & 7 again. Everything changed after the marriage, which I didn't want as I half expected this to happen. I would have been happier with no marriage but a great romance. Seems everyone on MM thinks romance disappears after marriage. I know, it often does but it doesn't HAVE to. I think if George had married Edna we'd be seeing no end of kissing and hugging. I didn't notice his look but given that it was a cordial greeting and Watts had told William that Julia wasn't pretty, without explaining further, I'm sure he's surprised at the greeting.

Not a dog lover especially ugly, slobbery dogs like Bulldogs but felt a very light episode. Do like the Labrador breed though, at least they are useful as guide/assistance dogs, so connected with Pitstachio. Only scene I liked was the funny in bed scene, although pretty obvious it was going to happen. I felt Murdoch advising team about his Acting Inspector role was way over stilted and stiff. Do miss Thomas Craig, really good at his role, but actors are people first and if they need time out, so be it!

I also enjoyed this episode very much and was happy to see Watts return. I hope they keep his plot going because the missing women is very interesting. And I LOVE dogs so this was right up my alley. I chuckled, too, at poor Henry getting dragged along by Miss Newsome.
