So now they're NOT building the house! Does that surprise us?

So now they're NOT building the house! Does that surprise us? No, it does not. But then, as soon as I started seeing who his neighbors were I knew that they wouldn't be living there. Far too rural for either of them.

Until this ep we really didn't know how far out of the city it was. Agreed. I had thought it was just a quiet corner of the city. That wasn't the city, that was Green Acres.

Far too rural for either of them. Looking at a screen grab of the map, it looked like where the Don veers east near the top of the Bayview Extension......the train line would be the Beltline that goes through Moore Park and the top of Mount Pleasant Cemetery.......think what that property would be worth now......

Okay, so now that everyone else has seen the episode, here are my thoughts!
Sooooo....now that the show has aired, I can finally share a few thoughts.
Anyone else notice that William made Julia bury the corpse? Did he make her dig the grave too? Your aversion to digging is really quite strong, isn't it? Not very gentlemanly of you, is it? Oh sure, go ahead and maintain that it was for science...
Speaking of the opening scene, anyone else think that William and Julia were talking about Gillies at the very beginning when they were burying the corpse they referred to as "our friend"?
I have to admit, I wasn't super keen to watch the episode a second time, but I'm glad I did, as I ended up enjoying it more. I thought there were some clever angles in there, with the warden of Kingston Pen being involved, and in the end, the neighbors sought their revenge via the same methods the family had used on them.
Jackson got some! Yeah, it's get all the Constables laid season on MM apparently.
Then we finally had confirmation that William really is a freak when he wants to make hawt nerd love in the morgue tent. Now all we need is for him to go for it in the real morgue 'cause we all know he wants to. The dead tell no tales after all!

I guess William and Julia will be staying in the hotel for a while to come. I wonder when they will finally get that house of theirs. But they really couldn't have lived on that land after arresting several neighbours. They have deaths and crime everywhere they go, but at least they got to have some fun in the tent before they left.
It was a fun episode and everyone had plenty to do. I enjoyed it. Though I still feel the missing women story is out of place and underwhelming. I also have to question the fact that these attractive and smart women would keep going for the constables. The best looking of them (Higgins) can't even get a girl. Though George really does have nice chemistry with Miss Cherry. I like her and she fits comfortably in the plots. I don't mind if she sticks around for a while.
I wonder if we'll see more of Julia's students this season. She's good in instructor mode and I liked how it was woven into the plot of this episode.

I enjoyed this episode. Some scenes that stood out: the young woman Murdoch goes to visit about her father and brothers telling him to get lost until he has a warrant (I was LOLing); the other detective (gawd I am awful with names) finding a bit more information about the missing women; the medical students and constables working together to help William solve the murder; and the twist at the end when William uncovers what exactly happened to the three men. I felt bad for the people being hauled off in the paddy wagon. It sort of reminded me of the Cherry Street episode when the murder victim was terrorizing his neighbours and somebody offed him for trying to destroy their neighbourhood.

I really enjoyed this episode. My first impression was W even has J doing the digging! I loved the way the story unfolded, kind of reminds me of some of the older episodes where the layers are peeled back, haven't seen much of that recently; of course this was written by Carol Hay, one of the great writers of the show. Glad Jackson had a good time, sounds like he deserves it and I’m glad they're giving us more back story for him. I was never sure what I thought about Jackson as he seemed like a spare part but I’m really liking him this season. Has anyone noticed that the constables seem to attract intelligent women? Except Henry of course! Loved the exchange between Henry and Mr. Nash, I wonder if they intended Laurie Murdoch for the part and wrote that in on purpose or if it was added later. I felt for the Nash’s and their neighbours and wish W had just let them be. There’s no way they could build their house there now, they certainly wouldn’t be welcome. Wonder if they’ll just buy a house in the city now or stay in the hotel suite.

I thought the same, or is this a case of what we've discussed here making it's way into the show...?

I REALLY enjoyed this episode. It reminded me a lot of that one with the model house and Grant Abrams.
I found this episode funny, interesting, and with a really strong story. I liked all the twists and turns and the final reveal. Quite frankly I don't blame any of the killers for doing what they did. Stuff like losing your brother in a barn-fire...which some other asshole started...would be traumatic for anybody.
