So, this was a fun episode, and I liked it! I'm only slightly disappointed that there wasn't Victorian Viagra, but perhaps a future episode? Not tons to add that others haven't already, and I agree that I didn't think W was hawking the fountain of youth for a second...I knew that there would be a catch and Meyers was a wonderful surprise-it's good to have him back. Ooh, and William is jealous about Pendrick kissing Julia. I still love that he's tried to convince himself to rationalize the whole thing... Anyone else think that there's been a bit of foreshadowing between Brackenreid deceiving Margaret and William deceiving Julia in the finale?

This episode was tops for me. I loved the return of Meyers. Then was shocked when Murdoch announced Pendrick's death. I was like, "Oh nooo." George of course wouldn't buy into William's sluffing off Pendrick's death. I enjoyed the digging George did. It was great to see Mr. and Mrs. Brackenreid back in the story--especially when Thomas was a bit jealous of Margaret smooching the young Tom. LOL. Everything about the episode was wonderfully done. It makes me sort of wish they'd give Pendrick/Meyers a spin-off spy series with Pink and Alan Cleg (as bad guy). But that's just me wishfully thinking because I love spies!

Laughing out loud at Meyers' get up as an African King, and giggling at how George and the other constables were deceived by William, Julia and Brax. And of course, it's always a good day to see Margaret back. I agree about William not being happy about the kiss, but I didn't catch any hints of future deception. Maybe I need to rewatch.

I saw no hints of deception in the future and there hasn't been deception in the past about Pendrick's kiss. Julia dismissed it and doesn't seem to have thought about it since, after all it wasn't Pendrick that kissed her but the Lurker. I thought after seeing the ep several times that W wasn't actually in a position where he would have seen the kiss. I'm glad they dealt with it though as there had been speculation about whether W would be upset by it.

My favourite scene was towards the end when Margaret is sitting by the younger Thomas' bedside, Thomas walks in, they make up, the younger Thomas revives and says something and Thomas says, "I thinks that boat has sailed, Sunshine"......I enjoyed the whole episode.....nice to see Myers back, especially so we could hear William say "Terrence Myers" again.....

FallenBelle yes I absolutely thought there was some foreshadowing. I still think the Season is going to end with William going undercover or something, and that everyone including Julia will think he is dead.

I didn't mean deception regarding the kiss, I meant foreshadowing in regards to the season finale.

TERRENCE MYERS
Oh meh old mucker how glad I am to see you again - (and Pendrick's rocket thing actually worked! Shame he didn't get to find that out!)
AND BRACKENREID Oh how I've missed you!
Needless to say this one's right up there with last weeks as being one of my favourites of the season!
Higgin's reaction to Brackenreid being "old" again was hilarious!
I loved Murdoch's hands when he was trying to market the young again cure - he was all Mr. Pointy Fingers and it was so awkward it was adorable.
Funnily that's all I can think of at the moment - I really did enjoy this episode! Despite my lack of ability to write a substantial post..

It's nice to have Brackenreid back, but I wasn't bothered about Meyers return. He's in the Beyond Time web series which told us they would bring him back in the real timeline. I didn't believe Pendrick was dead so I was waiting for something like the photo at the end. He's guaranteed to pop up in an episode next season.
If Pendrick faked his own death in this episode then wouldn't that kind of rule out William doing the same in the finale? Would the writers repeat something that soon? I don't know. Julia would consider him doing that after Pendrick only very recently having done the same thing.
George was going to marry Edna and was willing to rot in jail for her, so he wouldn't be claiming Nina was the one in his heart till the day he died.

I don't think Pendrick did fake his death, how do you fake all your hair falling out? He was poisoned and Brackenreid obviously thought he was dead however he must have survived.

He had hair in the photo so he didn't lose it. It seemed like he somehow faked his own death because he thought he was at risk and that's why he thanked William for saving his life.

The show has done foreshadowing before, in seasons six and seven that come to mind with William facing a dilemma like the man did in Murdoch and the Cloud of Doom, and Brax mulling over his mortality in season 7 before he was attacked. Can anyone think of any others? Yes, George was going to rot in jail for Edna, but he definitely did write that in a book he gave to Nina.

We don't know what's going to happen in the finale until we see it.
