Does anyone know where she went? I'd love to try and finish "You Know Where the City Is" but I'd prefer to ask her. I've gone through her tumblr and fanfiction.net accounts to no avail.

I love this story and always wanted to see it finished. I assume you sent a pm that would have gone to their email. If that didn't get a response then I'd assume they're no longer on fanfic.net and perhaps you could take the liberty of finishing it. If I were you I'd post it on my own page with an explanation.

Thanks for the reply, Hodge. Yeah, sent a PM through ff.net, and sent a private message through their tumblr account back in December. I was hoping to get an idea of where she wanted to go with the story (the murder case in particular) before I trounced all over the fic. I'm in the midst of a story of my own right now but I'm really, really tempted to take a look at this one once I'm finished. Time will tell. Thanks again.

I've long toyed with the idea of writing an AU for the Murdoch Effect, but have never thought of the right hook. It was last updated over three years ago, so if she isn't responding to your attempts to contact her, I would say go for it.

I'm just really getting into the show (over the last 3 months or thereabouts), so I'm not sure how comfortable I am writing for the Victorian Murdoch, which is why I thought I'd give that story a shot. Would help me get a feel for William while still being able to write in a modern voice. And yes, I feel the same re: finding the right hook. Again, another reason why I thought about picking up this story, though the murder case will take some planning! Thanks for the reply!

I find writing the Victorian Murdoch quite easy but I've always written in a very formal style, I think I'd have a harder time writing in a modern style. I have to edit my stories to make them less formal as a rule. After a while you'll get into it, study the characters, there's nothing worse than a story that's written out of character and that includes what they would and wouldn't do which should come with more viewing.
