Yes, we must be getting a roller skating episode. There was clip of Julia on roller skates a while back and the producers asked Helene if she could roller skate....

We're definitely getting a roller derby episode, Helene Joy talked about it at one of the conventions.

The roller girls were all unlikable and so I was very happy that Julia and Rebecca showed them who's boss. Rebecca was fierce and came across alot like Julia and Emily in this episode. Good to see that passion from Rebecca. Fun episode in regards to the racing story.
But they rewrote Miss Cherry into a bitch and shoved Nina in the story just so we'd suddenly start loving George with Nina? It's a waste of Miss Cherry's character to turn her nasty and anti-William/Julia. I wish they'd stop flogging the dead horse of George and Nina. Fine, get rid of Miss Cherry, but please also dump Nina and Lydia in S11. Start afresh or bring back Edna. Now, she would've loved going to the roller racing with George or even done the racing with Julia and Rebecca.
Though the writers acted like Edna didn't exist because her going on the run to save her son wasn't mentioned by Brackenreid, and Emily didn't leave George for a woman. They weren't even together when Emily got involved with Lillian.

"Whyyyyyyyyyy?" Oh, I knew it was coming, especially in a skating episode, but it was still funny.
Yes, the Buffalo Queens (and fiancé) were the folks you love to hate, which was fun. Julia and Rebecca as badasses were fun too, all in all, I liked the episode, it was fun.
However, the real question in this episode is when did Louise Cherry become a two-faced control freak? I was stunned to see that reversal, and I wonder why so sudden with this twist? Poor George, he's being pressured to marry a woman to appease Murdoch and Brax so that they will approve of him. Of course, the woman in question certainly doesn't approve of them.
I must say, while I certainly didn't think we'd seen the last of Nina, I didn't think it was going to flame out so quickly with Louise. I'm guessing she must be the dancer of next week's episode, but I suppose she could be a friend of Nina's as well.

I'm clueless why MM are so obsessed with keeping Nina around as a character or love interest. Her and Lydia didn't really fit well into this episode and the romance with George was never a big love story. Nina and Lydia are gorgeous and I like them as individuals, but they have no real place on MM. Maybe next season they can back away from George's love life for a while. I'm loving his character again, and I don't want the crappy personality traits to resurface around Nina. I liked how Julia got protective over Rebecca and went to hit one of the roller girls who hurt her. They've developed a good friendship and mentor relationship. Rebecca shone in this episode and it was nice to see. The main characters were all written to be their lovable selves.

I didn't see Miss Cherry's personality reversal as sudden, we had warning of it when she published the article about the garage without asking George first, and her idea that he could be more than just a constable. She didn't take into consideration how it may affect his job because she has her own ideas of what he could be. I'm now wondering what kind of people she thinks are more appropriate for George because if William and Julia aren't then exactly what is?

I agree with this......she has shown signs of being manipulative (bursting into fake tears), snobbish (pushing George re the Garage as she doesn't seem to think being a constable is good enough) aggressive and not too concerned with others' feelings/opinions.....they've just taken her to the next level and shown the 2 faced aspect.......
This was a good episode....not one of the best of the season, but good......probably good to have a lighter one, considering what is coming next week....

I don't agree they had any big lead up to Miss Cherry turning into a mega bitch in this episode. It was only done to make her look unlikable and rule her out as a love interest. Miss Cherry seemed ambitious in previous episodes but nice enough, this was a sudden shift and it didn't feel organic to what had come before.

Yes she has been manipulative from the start, I didn't like her then, came to think she was ok but not for George, and now I'm convinced she's not.

I'm now wondering what kind of people she thinks are more appropriate for George because if William and Julia aren't then exactly what is? While I agree that there may have been mild hints there all along as far as the controlling behavior, it was turned up considerably last night. IMO, it went from a 3 to an 11 in a flash. Before, her behavior could have just been construed as getting George to realize his potential and be more ambitious, but she became a total control freak last night who didn't care about his feelings last night. There had also previously been no hints of her insincerity and deceit before last night. As for who she thinks may be more appropriate, I'm thinking other go-getting people who are looking to "better themselves". Comfortable "bureaucrats" like William and Julia aren't ambitious enough for her.
