Glad you are enjoying it. The CBC is certainly giving it a big push and I believe it will debut in the UK shortly.
I watched the first episode and found it forced for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it. They are following the MM formula of connecting to the history of the City (few people realise Ernest Hemingway got his start as a journalist with the Toronto Star, for example), but I'm not connecting with it for the some reason. Maybe because I'm not as interested in the 1920s?

The whole era from 1800-1960 has been my golden era of history. I love the 20s for the fashion, the style, the music, cars, architecture...it's just sexygorgeous all over.

I will admit that the social changes in the 1920s, brought about by the First World War, is fascinating.......I'll probably give Frankie Drake another try........

Having watched the first episode I must say it doesn't have much going for it. Not even cameo roles by Johnny Harris and Lawrence Fox made it the lest bit interesting. I only hope they haven't invested much in this series. The only thing that kept me watching to the end was the vintage cars.

I guess people are too used to MM by now, for FD to have a real solid chance.

I've tried Frankie Drake again, and sorry, still can't get into it. There was an episode I quite enjoyed concerning flashbacks to the First World War and the effects of gas, shell shock, etc., which I found entertaining, but the other episodes I still found forced. I haven't seen any viewing numbers, but it seems to have found an audience, and it certainly benefits from following MM on Monday nights, so I wouldn't be surprised if it got renewed.......

Sorry to add to the negative opinions about Frankie Drake. I saw the first two episodes and found them very boring compared to Murdoch Mysteries. Why couldn't the producers have kept it on the same level of quality as Murdoch? I am now in to Season 11 of Murdoch Mysteries, and can say that in all those 11 seasons I can count the number of episodes i disliked on two hands. Probably about 10 such episodes that were lousy. But for FDM, it's at two out of two that are boring.
