WELL That was an episode! I enjoyed seeing Julia shining this episode - and we all know she was *that kid* when she was in school!
William was in full Detective Gadget Mode this episode! And I gotta say I loved the sort of role reversal that kind of occurred because of it. Usually it's William who's annoying the other characters by going on and on on about a little bitty detail of a case that doesn't quite add up and they're trying to go about their normal day-to-day and he isn't having it - this time it was Julia and George in that position and William was trying to build Murooma! (do hope we get to see it again!)
And holy heck that chart! and we thought Murdoch had some serious chart game!
I love how Julia's boss came to be on board with the whole thing -
Not much to else to say really. Kind of hope George doesn't mope around the whole season looking for a girlfriend. That'll get old rather quick.

This episode showed exactly why Julia belongs as the coroner. She is the only one who noticed a series of murders and Violet completely missed the clues. The deaths would have continued if it weren't for Julia's pathology knowledge and expertise. Violet doesn't have the knowledge to solve crimes and she yet again got Julia into trouble. She needs taking care of. I hope it's not too long before the surgery and Violet are finished.
It was great to have William and Julia working as a team together on a case, it's been too long since it's been just those two getting it done without too many others taking up screen time. It was refreshing.
William is going to have the Murdoch/Ogden house filled with gadgets, it's a good thing his wife enjoys that kind of thing because it could drive another woman crazy.

I honestly don't know how I feel about this episode. For one, the whole "historical-celebrity-of-the-week" bit was just shoehorned in for no real reason at all...I agree, I'm not sure how well being out of the mortuary helps Julia. I mean I can understand the impulse for her to be out, but why not just have like, a regular medical practice on the side, as well as her day-job, if she wants variety? Or something? I dunno. I mean she did that in the past and it seemed to work alright...

I agree that this episode showed how well suited Julia is to the morgue. And how not ready Violet is to be the full coroner. But I can completely understand why Julia wants something more. And I don't feel like I can deny her that. Anyway it's early days yet so anything can happen! Lol yep! We should keep a log of how many gadgets appear in the Murdoch household over the course of the season!

I think Julia can work elsewhere and she and William can still work on cases when they're at home. It's not like we really see them having a social life and they're both so geeky they can do this. I like Violet as the somewhat bad person. I just hope they go somewhere with her character and not let it end. They alluded to her having another side last season and we need a villain.
