As per the CBC: Crabtree and John are transporting a convicted axe murderer to prison when she escapes to exact revenge on those who testified against her.

I'll be honest, I hated the last episode. That thing with the Italian guy. Hated it. I couldn't think of one thing about it that I actually enjoyed.
This one, however - this one I like! It had a good plot, it was interesting, funny, thought-provoking...anything with Watts in it is great...and the whole thing of writing the police manual sounds fascinating.
As a writer of many, many years' experience (I've been at it since I was six), I can only imagine what a nightmare this is going to be for the Murdochs to write this manual thing. But that said, Julia is right - If you're going to be a writer, you need a thick skin. If you're going to whine and sook about every tiny litle thing, you won't last five seconds.

Who is Bill Brioux and why is it a big deal that he had a small role? I've never heard of him.
As for the episode, I loved seeing Watts and John having more of a starring role. I think the actor who plays John is really good, and I love Watts.
I can only imagine the size of the book William and Julia are going to write.

My guess is, it'll be HUGE. 12 seasons' worth of developments!! After all, by 1906 (this episode), there were a lot of new developments - photography, blood-typing, fingerprinting, etc, etc. As recently as 20 years before, they had almost none of that.

And, I'm sure by the time they actually finish writing it, it will be in the 1920s, with all the medical and technological advancements of the First World War being used.......

This was an awesome episode. I also enjoyed John and Watts having starring roles in this episode. I really hoped it would be that axe murderer from the women's institution but it wasn't. I really liked her. And I guessed who it was right away LOL. Usually it takes me almost the whole episode.
