When Murdoch is called to a murder scene when he discovered the victim, Joe Prestia, was engaged to none other than Anna Fulford. Evidence is found which leads Dr. Ogden to believe that Joe was killed by an assassin. During the course of the investigation someone makes an attempt on Anna’s life. Why would anyone want Anna dead? Murdoch discovers that Joe has a darker past than anyone thought.

I hope that is the last we see of Anna. I am getting tired of all these love interests. I loved how Julia was obviously yearning for William.

They need to have William and Julia together now. It's been 4 series of back of forth. I need them to stop this now. Even Anna said the why William had talked about Julia in Bristol made it seem like they had been destined for each other.
Nothing physical. Anna just told Julia that she had fallen for two men in a year and William was one. Then you could tell she still had feelings for William. William gave her papers for a new identity at the end and Anna asked if they could wait a while and then William could come to her. William said no because it would put both of them in danger.
Julia had been really nice to Anna, but you could see her jealousy when Anna told her the thing about falling for William in Bristol.
Anna and Julia shared a scene where Anna asked why William and her aren't together and Julia looked heartbroken while she said that they had realised their futures weren't compatible. You could see the pain Julia was in when she said that and she obviously is still madly in love with William.

It was a really good episode all round. Brackenreid had big part and the politics storyline was resolved. George named the silencer gun lol. William/Julia upped the emotion in their scenes.

Well, Anna is definitely gone as a possible love interest now. It was nice to see her again for one more episode though. I liked the interaction between her and Julia and how Julia realized that William had given up a relationship (or even a fling) with Anna because of his love for Julia. And that Anna had clearly respected his love for her. Wasn't it kind of funny that in the first episode Anna was in William had a different identity (due to his memory loss) and in this one Anna had to take on a different identity by the end of the episode? It was interesting to see Anna go into what we now call the witness protection program (at least it's called that here). And the Black Hand was the precursor to the mob/mafia.
I liked Brackenreid's plot, too. The issue of immigration is still a hot button issue in most countries. He got taken in by the possibility of fame at times during his campaign but by the end of this episode he realized how corrupt the backers and his PR guy could be. I did think his PR guy was funny in his slimy way. I thought the conversation between Higgins and Crabtree about traveling with only a valise and a shoe box was funny. The Alibi guide has the wrong name again. It was Joe Bell not Joe Prestia. They must have gotten early press releases and things like some names were changed afterward. They also have had the same credits run at the end for the last 3 episodes. They are only correct for Confederate Treasure. Weird.

Now I'm on a computer I can type a little more, a little faster! I loved the episode as I said before, I'm glad that Brackenreid decided against going into politics. He is now known as the police king rather than Inspector! haha Loved the scene between George and Henry. It was nice to see Anna again but I don't want to again I heard that she is going to be in another episode though? Unless I'm mistaken?

That might have been me because it seemed like she was going to be in the next one, too. I guess it's possible she could show up at the nunnery/convent but I doubt it now. The episode guide at www.murdochmysteries.com is confusing for ep 9 and 10. And imdb listed the Mother Superior as being in the same episode as Anna so that also got me confused: www.imdb.com/title/tt1804095/

I really really liked the episode.
It was nice to see it finally put in words just how much William and Julia still love each other. I also think the looks they throw each other were more obvious. Anyone else realized that Julia basically called William the love of her life? I'm still frustrated that they are not yet back together and I'm waiting for the moment when Julia realizes she can't possibly go through with the wedding. Also it frustrated my that she seemed surprised that William chose her back in Bristol. I come more and more to the conclusion that she thought he didn't really love her.
On another note I really liked the Brackenreid storyline. Finally he maned up and did the job he is supposed to do. And Kudos to Crabtree for speaking up to him once more (last time when he took the gold cure and nearly beat him up). In that aspect he's even more curageous than Murdoch, who always just stays out of everything.
