It’s great to find people who like similar things to me. ;D I am looking forward to finding the shows you are recommending – those I’ve not seen before that is. My list is long, but includes in no particular order: • Gilmore Girls • Veronica Mars • The Mentalist • Foyles War • Castle • Monk • Sue Thomas • Miss Marple • Poirot • Eli Stone • Criminal Minds • V • Nikita • Glee • Ghost Whisperer • No Ordinary Family • Heroes • Dr Who • Leverage • Murder She Wrote • Diagnosis Murder • Republic of Doyle • Spooks I’m sure there must be more…

Has anyone been watching Mrs Brown's boys on BBC1 Monday nights? It's hilarious, though the language is a bit fruity.

I discovered Sue Thomas FBeye after discovering Murdoch Mysteries. I love both!
I also LOVE Republic of Doyle! If you haven't watched it, you must!!! It's another crime show but it's quite funny. Based in St. Johns, Newfoundland, you can almost compare the accent to the Irish! Its fab!
Apart from the above I tend to watch documentaries on history, nature, coast etc although I am a huge Dr Who fan.

Oh, I've been wondering what Rep of Doyle is about. That sounds good. Has Jonny Harris ever guest appeared on it? Since he's from NL that would be fun. I love his accent. It reminds me a little of Gus Pike from Road to Avonlea.

I LOVE Keeping up Appearances! They used to air it here on PBS but I don't think they do in my area right now. I also like Are You Being Served.

Nice to see so many Poirot fans. I enjoy re-runs of Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Star Trek TNG, Little House on the Prairie and the Love Boat.
I LOVED Cold Case before they went and cancelled it *sob* Before MM would air, I got into this documentary style show called Outlaw Bikers on BBC. Where it went I do not know. I hope they bring it back.
As for current shows, just MM and the Killing.

For those who can get it, I recommend Miss. Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It's made it's way to nr 3 on my list of favorites. Right under Castle (my absolute favorite!!!) and MM.

Love to see what everybody loves and there is a lot of variety which is great. My Top top show for the past 20 years is Absolutely Fabulous and they still create new episodes from time to time which is great I'm cracking up everytime. Of course now there is Murdoch which I am completely obsessed about (which is strange because I usually don't watch period show but i love love this one) After that for current shows that i like there are: American Horror Story Once upon a time Glee Downtown Abbey Republic of Doyle (saw some episodes and it is actually very nice) Louie (C.K) Mike and Molly Older ones: Moonlighting Frasier Friends Bewitched The twilight zone Pushing daisies The new statesman (with rik mayall) As I see this list I think I am watching way too much tv as well!!

Ah, my husband loves Louis C.K. He's a stand up comic himself. I think he has maybe even met Louis. He's met a few high profile comics in his time performing.

Hey Hannikan,
That is great that your husband does stand up I am very impressed, I am an actress but I wouldn't be able to do stand up it is very hard.
I love Louie C.K show I think he is so funny now that I live in NYC I get the jokes but at the beginning I had troubles I think comedy and especially stand up is linked to pop culture and also your country history so it took me a while, also one comic that I love is the late George Carlin!!! ;D
Anyway my Murdoch Mysteries season 4 blu-ray has shipped today so I should receive it soon, let me know if like catymurdoch you want to know the bonus details and I will send you a message

Yeah, I don't know how he does it. He's actually in a wheelchair so he doesn't technically stand up He's done quite well and it's mostly been his health that has prevented him from going even further (ie: going on tour). I agree that Louis is funny, too. He has a unique perspective which is often key in comedy. There are often a lot of pop culture references and sometimes national events or politics. My husband often throws in obscure references to see how many people in the audience will respond. His perspective is obviously influenced by his experience as a paraplegic. Ooh, lucky you that you have MM blu ray coming!
