I think they are extremely funny together, tonight's episode was another example of that.
I think we will see more of Higgins in the upcoming episodes after seeing the new ones ;D

I said 'maybe' only because whilst I think they're a great partnership I do prefer it when ALL of them work together. Also, it could be a case of them repeating themselves as they have been down this route before with Murdoch and Crabtree?

I liked it in the new episode because Murdoch was in Buffalo which gave them some time to put the two together but I do think that if they were to do this all the while especially with Murdoch there it might get a bit much

I want to see them both more but not necessarily together all the time.

I really wish we would see more of both Crabtree and Higgins, together or with the other characters. Some episodes we see a lot of them, and then another time Higgins especially can almost disappear. I really liked them in Monsieur Murdoch when they were painting the fax image together. Higgins laughing at Crabtree's painting by numerical value idea ;D

Yeah I wish we knew more about Higgins. I like them together but I'd like to see them separately more.

The character of Const. Henry Higgins is seriously underdeveloped. I firmly believe that this character could have/has a lot of potential. I like him because he's a bit like George, but not so much. He's funny, he's hardworking, he's attentive and he wants to learn. He's a good copper who's trying to climb the greasy pole, just like Crabtree.
One of my favourite Higgins moments is when Higgins is having a real fuzzer over trying to cast the horseshoe impressions and Murdoch has to show him how to do it ("Child's Play"). It shows how much he wants to be a good policeman.
I also like how well he gets along with George. Like in that episode where they have to paint that huge portrait, one square at a time and they're trying to do the one-upmanship on whether or not this was the most boring job they've ever had to do together. I thought that was funny.
One thing I never got was in the episode "Convalescence" where George says: "Young Higgins has shown some initiative" and the Inspector replies "Young Higgins it is, then!"
Surely George & Henry are almost the same age?? At least, that's what I thought...

No, I think Higgins is younger. Not a lot but the actors are about 5 years apart I'd say. The guy that plays Higgins is 27 (he was 22 when the show started) and I think Jonny Harris is in his early 30's by now. And I imagine Higgins has been a police officer for a shorter period than George.

I like the George/Higgins dynamic, too. I like that George can boss him around if he needs to, and I like how Higgins tries to get out of the work. I also like the "Young Higgins" - it makes it seem like George is trying to puff himself up a bit.
I think Lachlan is still finding his way as an actor. Some of his scenes have come off weird - like when he was in the hospital for War on Terror. However, I thought he was great in The Murdoch Sting. Murdoch Mysteries has given him the regular work necessary to grow - kind of reminds me of some of Yannick's groan-worthy acting in High Tide!
Ps. I've always wondered who Higgins was dating when he was "punching above his weight" in 20th Century Murdoch.
