Does anyone else watch the Mentalist? I do enjoy Patrick Jane’s character. I like that he is brilliant at reading people’s characters and manipulating them, yet is also plain talking, at least, most of the time. The show goes for more obvious laughs than many other police/crime dramas, but there is a dark side especially around Jane when he is thinking about Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter.

Well, I watch Mentalist. Stopped at the middle of season 3, in fact. I like Patrick for the moments when he convinces his colleagues that they must make a trap for someone and for the thing when in different situations he makes tea/asks someone to make it. And I also like the interaction between him and the team, some jokes that Patrick made

I've never seen it, I was going to watch when it first started but I thought it was too similar to Psych

It's about Shawn Spencer who is a psychic detective but he's not really psychic he's just really observant but everyone thinks he is psychic, it's kinda hard to explain lol

I've neve seen Psych either - but from your description it does sound similar. I shall look out for it. I tend to try to watch shows from the beginning if I can. So instead of just watching the latest episode that happens to be on TV, I'll look for the 1st episode of the 1st series and watch it from there. Its good because you see it develop as the writers intended, but it can also be frustrating as reruns often get stopped mid series, or episodes get missed. I use Locate TV which tells you when shows/films/actors you have picked are next on. I realise I watch too much TV, but there's a lot of good stuff out there....

I think it's right that you're watching from the beginning. Not only character's developing is important, but also there will be spoilers for plot, so... I'm glad you do Our television makes reruns of previous seasons (for exmple, of Mentalist) just before showing the new one, and they don't miss episodes (but not all channels). In fact, I watch TV very rarely 'cause ads are annoying (may last for 5-6 minutes or be once in 10 in worst case) and I can get very irritated and it will spoil everything. In fact, most of my prefered things either aren't shown or are bad translated. So I am watching online or loading original video and subs. And I am using English shows to improve my speech and as audition lessons As for Mentalist, I don't like Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon. In my opinion, she is somewhat cold and expressionless and too sceptical for Patrick's methods.
