When my daughter and I started watching Veronica Mars (if you are not familiar, she's a teenage private investigator, high school/college setting in town called Neptune in California), we found this website:

Its a really good site providing backgound and detail so if you are really into the show you can find out so much more
I also like that it has a selector at the top of the page so you can select which episode you have seen up to and that way you don't get spoilers for the future. They must have a really complex set up 
On the downside, its not a forum so you can't add your own comments and that is something I enjoy, hearing what others think about things and being able to add my little bit.
May be others have experienced other good fansites that could give us some ideas about how we may further develop this one?
