So there is a little more about S6 episodes up on imdb. For Murdoch Air at least one of the Wright bros (Orville) will be a character. Both Thomas' sons will be in it, played by different actors than previously. www.imdb.com/title/tt2201638/ The sons will also be in Cloud of Doom, which will also feature an Indian doctor. www.imdb.com/title/tt2201638/

Wow it took me until now to figure out that MM changed showrunners between S4 and S5. At least I think they did. I am not even sure. Anyway, I wonder if that is the reason why the whole show feels different this year. It seems very different to me.

To Petunia,
Yes they had different writers this season (even if others from previous seasons are still there). That is true that season 5 felt different and I guess they were experimenting with different things, overall it is not my favorite season even if some episodes are still very good for me (in order of preferences):
- Murdoch in Toyland - Twentieth Century Murdoch - Invention Convention - Who Killed the Electric Carriage?
There are some others that I liked as well but these 4 are very much my favorite.
I am hopeful for season 6 though and can't wait to see what will be the next adventures in Murdoch Mysteries

I liked "Back and to the Left" as well and it was also written by Paul Aitken & Graham Clegg who with Cal Coons are the team of writers/director responsible for most of the episodes I absolutely adore in the show; but the last scene between W/J got me weeping everytime, it doesn't put a smile on my face like the other episodes on my list above do so that is why although I like it very much it wasn't part absolute must see of season 5 (the same goes for "Shades of Grey in season 2, it is an amazing episode but boy it gets me sad everytime I watch it and I have seen it several times!!!!)
Thanks for the info about the characters and the stories for season 6, for what we can get on the internet it does seem to be getting better and better!!! If Allen Clegg is back, can we assume that in the same episode we might see Terrence Meyers and his usual "National Security" case? I hope so he is a trademark of Murdoch Mysteries now, a season would not be the same without him appearing in one episode!!!

Wow Hannikan how do you find all these things!!!
Barbarama. I agree with you on the list of good S6 episodes. I would had Back and to the left to the mix though. I just thought the spoof on the JFK assasination was well done.
Shades of Grey from S2 may be my most favourite MM episode of all. Even though the show is called Murdoch Mysteries, I personally find Julia's character more interesting than Murdoch's. Shades of Grey was definitely a "Julia" episode. Aslo how can anyone not like Mary Walsh as the russian countess!!! I think Mary Walsh should have a recuring role as one of George's eccentric aunt. As a fan I would be willing to forget the fact she played the russian countess just to see her comedic flare on MM.
Finally, I think up until the end of S4 Cal Coon was the showrunner. Now it's Peter Mitchell. I think showrunners (as the name says) decide how the direction of a show. What I was trying to say before is that maybe the change in the showrunner also accounts for the "different" feel of the episode.

What I was trying to say before is that maybe the change in the showrunner also accounts for the "different" feel of the episode. I found them on CBC Murdoch's or Shaftesbury's twitter. I also get Google notifications for anything new with Murdoch Mysteries as a keyword. I agree that the showrunner can really change the direction of a show. It happened on some of my other favorite shows.

You both right I am practically sure that Peter Mitchell is the show runner for season 5 but at least cal coons is still part of the show as he directed at least 2 of my favorite episodes in season 5.
Don't get me wrong I absolutely adore shades of grey it is a fantastic episode and the acting is stellar especially the scenes with j/w it is just very hard to watch for me because I get so into it and petunia you are right by saying it is a Julia episode you can feel her struggle when she sense that William will get to the true whatever he has to do to get it.
As I mentioned before I liked very much back &to the left it was nice finding William back at station 4 and working with Julia again but boy that last scene was so well done that I was moping for days afterwards and waiting 5 episodes to see Julia again was just too long.
That is why i am so happy to Murdoch in toyland is airing in canada on Tuesday as I will be able to talk about it again I absolutely adore that episode!!!

Considering that the Canadians haven't seem all the episodes yet, that it why it was kept "secret", love it. It is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
