Julia is only going to have been absent from four eps. She was absent from three in season four. This past ep was great so they can do good ones without her ut it will be best when she's back. I haven't seen anything about her not being in season six and I'm on the fb fan page, too. I agree about the lack of morgue focus and science in a few of those without Julia. Emily seems to be capable but lacking the human touch Julia has. She did admit that she didn't have the patience for dealing with people. William seems to miss Julia min the morgue.

Hi Hannakin, yes there were modern paved roads in Murdoch's time, but they were hardly the rule. The majority of roads were still dirt, cobblestones or flagstones. By the early 1900s though, there was a move to have as many roads sealed with asphalt as possible, in progress, however.

Yeah, I would figure they weren't the norm except in heavily urban areas. But Pendrick clearly said it was asphalt.

This the fb post I was talking about:
"March 25 at 9:10am · 2.Nicky Priest There is a reason for Helene not being in season 5 as much as she has been previously and indeed, when season 5 finished filming, there was no guarantee she would be in season 6 at all. I agree that the Julia character should remain, but not if its purely going to be to make goo goo eyes at Murdoch all the time.March 25 at 9:13am · 2."
It was posted by the moderator of the group who seems to be "in the know". I do certainly hope this is wrong though.....

And I haven't seen any official news she's not in S6. And when S5 finished filming they didn't know there would be a S6, it hadn't been confirmed yet. So of course there was guarantee of any of them being in a maybe S6 lol And Julia was never in MM to just make goo goo eyes at Murdoch. She was an important part of the team, and I sure she will be by S6 again. It's not the first time Julia has had a temporary stand-in at the morgue. And she got her job back then as well.

She does have inside info actually. She has more access than any other fan and is contact with the producers quite a bit. But she's not a W/J fan so that's why she may have said that. And very little is known about S6 at this point since filming hasn't started yet. But she definitely wasn't saying Julia wouldn't be in S6.

The producers wouldn't be giving filming secrets away to a fan site. If they did we'd have a lot more spoilers of the series than we do. She will only be getting snippets of info that any news outlet would be given. I don't believe she knows any details about S6, MM have always been hush hush about the plots and outcomes of future series and storylines. MM is one of the shows with the least amount of spoilers floating around. I know because I look every series lol. I wish we did have a fan site that could tell us how how things turn out for Julia/Darcy, how Anna leaves this time. And what the producers meant by they ended S5 in a way that would satisfy the viewers. As for her opinion on Julia, from the tv movies she was always an important part of the team professionally. Her role has never just been as William's love interest, and it's unfair on her character to imply that. This series has proven Julia is important to the show and team, as it's felt incomplete without her. They need her pathological investigations to solve the crimes. Without her and her work they wouldn't have solved most of the cases they have. Even her stand-in's haven't been as good as her in the last two series for professional ability. I don't understand why some viewers dislike Julia, it's strange. She's as much a part of the team and show as the three male characters. I love all four of them and couldn't imagine the show with any missing. Their chemistry and dynamic is what makes MM so entertaining to watch.

If you are looking for spoilers, there are not real spoilers, but hints of spoilers on those two facebook groups. The moderator has already seen the next two episodes and has commented on them. Someone could probably infer some conclusions from those comments.

I know some of what happens in this season, but do not like to advertise the fact as not everyone likes spoilers. I think everyone will enjoy what happens as it progresses. Yes Anna appears in the next 2 parter but so does Julia and you will get to know if Anna stays or not. The episode Maureen has written is really good as is the Murdoch in Toyland one, our William gets very emotional, which is unusual for him. I won't say more as some people don't want to know in advance.

I doubt she has any secret info. She has seen those ep ahead of everyone as was mentioned and therefore has knowledge ahead of the rest of us. So no not secrets, just has knowledge about much of what will happen in S5 that the rest of us don't. As I said, no one knows much about S6 yet, including her. They're still writing it and haven't started filming, so even the cast probably doesn't know a lot yet. But again she wasn't saying that Julia wouldn't be in S6 at all in that statement. I have read that Helene Joy has had some other commitments that have caused her to not be available for the whole season (hence her absence from 3 eps in S4 and 4 in S5). I think that is why some are worried she'll leave completely and not be in S6. But I doubt that will be the case.

Someone could probably infer some conclusions from those comments. Having checked out the facebook page I know I won't be spending time there in future . The Julia dislike by Nicky and a few other posters isn't pleasant to read. I have no idea what their problem with her is. Those people don't even seem to want her on the show. Whether they like it or not Julia is a big part of the show as is the W/J romance. You can't take those things away without adversely effecting the feel of the show. The dynamic and chemistry would change, and this has been apparent for two or more episodes this series. No one is saying Julia is the star of the show, but she is just as important as the other characters, so deserves to be there just as much. I honestly don't understand why anyone thinks all she does is make goo goo eyes at William, and isn't a nice person. I have surely watched a different show to those people. All the characters are nice in their own ways and they all have their roles in the investigations. What's ironic is that it's infact Anna that is the definition of a goo goo eye character who is brought in expressly for that purpose. Yet she gets welcomed. Julia isn't just William's love interest and never has been. But their romance is and always was an intregal part of the show. They may say MM isn't about romance, but the truth is the show has from the tv movies always been 70% crime and 30% W/J As for the episode hints, I couldn't find any I guess my spoiler thirst will have to wait lol. Anyway, I don't think it's reasonable for Anna to stick around past ep 8, and that she'll either die or move back to Europe for her witness protection, thereby making her and William impossible for a third time. I just would love to know how the series ends in regards to Julia/Darcy. Even if W/J never reunited I don't want her stuck with a man she doesn't love.

Well MurdochChic, I am putting two and two together and probably coming up with five!!! I will see over the next two weeks I guess. If you are still interested and if my conjectures are correct, once the two parter episodes have aired, I can explain how I came to my conclusions.

I agree with you about William and Julia MurdochChic. Everyone can have their opinions about it all, of course. I don't know why some don't think Julia is nice either. I get frustrated with her sometimes, as I do William. But I would never say she isn't nice. I think she means Julia and William having tortured, longing looks at each other. I am looking forward to her being back both in a professional sense and because I do want William and Julia back together romantically. I would think that won't happen for awhile but I do think it will happen. I can't imagine Anna will stick around either.

Finally a good ep! I pretty much loved everything about it! (Especially the fact that I guessed the murderer correctly, barely ever happens). It'll be funny to see if they ever include Pendrick in another ep. I can just see it now: pennyless from his last venture, he turns to a life of crime! Murdoch won't believe that he's a bad guy because he always does and is always wrong. Of course this time will be the one time that he doesn't suspect him when he actually is the killer. ;D I didn't really read all the comments about Helene not being in the 6th season, but i hope this isn't correct. This season is clearly suffering without her! anyways, here's hoping next ep continues in the same vein as this one!

I think Pendrick will be in the episode Invention Convention. That's in 2 weeks, after the 2 parter that starts this week. It would be interesting if your scenario happened, scrubby. I like him though so I'd like him to continue to show up in subsequent seasons, too.
