There is a charity auction at the CBC Broadcasting Centre on Friday, 7 December 2012. Among the items to bid on is a Murdoch Mysteries DVD/watch/walk-on role/lunch with the cast & crew package.

If you look at the filming dates for season 6, which ended over 2 months ago, and when the winner of last year's auction actually filmed her part for season 6 it seems to add up to there being a 7th season of Murdoch Mysteries and this being a very covert way of announcing it.

Of course CBC could be intending to re-edit some episode of season 6 to include the winner of this auction but considering post-production should be completed soon that seems unlikely and rather expensive.
