MOAR STUFFZ!!German-made dual-chamber service-style whistleProbably 1920s-30s. It says "Made in Germany" on them. Not "West Germany" (1950-1989), and it's too old to be modern. So it has to have been made pre-WWII. Possibly even pre-WWI. Antique ivory straight-rule. Made by Lund. 57 Cheapside, London. The final piece to complete my writing-slope! Early 20th century theater-glasses. Black enamel and brassUnsure of actual age. Anywhere from the 1860s/70s-1930s I reckon. Closest that others have been able to guess is about 1900-1930.

You aren't a true Happy Dafty until you've turned at least one pair of opera glasses into a periscope!

This is a Westclox Big Ben alarm-clock. I've been after something like this for a while, and it's nice to finally have one. I'm gonna send it to the clockmaker to hopefully have it restored. The Westclox Big Ben was first introduced in 1902. And would've looked almost exactly like this one. Detective Murdoch probably woke up to a clock like this on his bedside table each morning. I hate electronic/electric alarm-clocks. I really do. They never wake me up. I've literally lost count of how many times I've slept through my alarm-clock, and sometimes, missed critical events as a result. With a mechanical alarm-clock, you can't just reach out - hit a button, and go back to sleep. It won't let you. So this is perfect for me!

I already have one, but it's electric.
I could buy a mechanical one. They're very cheap.

I own lots of watches, but not one of them is digital. The only digital clocks in the house are on my stove and microwave. I just love the look of a clock and watch face. Some of my watches are quite beautiful, with hand painted faces. I do not own a real pocket watch though. One of these days.....

My railroad watch is my pride and joy. I never thought I'd own one.
I could conceivably sell all my other pocketwatches and be quite content with just that one.

He should already be printing his business cards! There is plenty of money in nostalgic detail, the problem is just figuring out how to tap into it...
