With Murdoch Mysteries s7 so far off... well, it's really not that far off, it just seems it... I needed a new series for my evenings. A good family friend of mine suggested the BBC Sherlock series, stating it was one of their favorites. I had heard of it before, and read many positive reviews. Not only that, but Steven Moffat of Doctor Who co-wrote it. It sounds like a fantastic series, but due to my lack of Netflix, I'm going to have to go and rent the first series. Before I do, I was wondering if anybody on this magnificent board has seen Sherlock and could leave their thoughts towards the show. Good? Bad? Mediocre? Should I take my first steps into Sherlockhood?

I just bought the first two seasons on DVD. I saw it when it aired here in Aus but had to have the dvds to watch again and again. I HIGHLY recommend it. All the wonderful Sherlock Holmes stories combined with the amazing writing skills of Moffat and Gattis. Enjoy!

Outstanding series I would also highly recommend it. I like about 80 percent of Sherlock, but there is always 20% that throws it off the rails: some plot business that doesn't make sense, the villain is too wacky, or Sherlock himself is too wacky. I think my favorite was the one with "The Woman".

I LOVE this series. I've yet to watch the Abomidable Bride. But I do have the DVD. I've watched every episode.
