Julia almost looks like a flapper in Season 5! When she talks of her arrangement with Darcy, it almost sounds like he's gay and they've agreed to separate lives. Yep, Julia would have no qualms about sleeping with William now. I like that idea about William correcting old mistakes after circumstances have changed. Ican totally see that messing with his head! On looking old - camera has been doing no favors this year, especially out doors. It might be deliberate, bug I agree the effect is crawling over the finish line. I want the prdtty bavk, though! I still think they're pretty, but the fine lines are there. They're not kids anymore, and the roller coaster ride is over. Find new topics of an angsty nature to cover with those two. You could really see the fine lines on Julia's face, and oddly enough, I respect the fact that she hasn't botoxed herself into expressionlessness. She's an experienced woman, and I love that Canadian TV is letting her be that, and not trying to make her look like an eternal 25 y/o Victorian Barbie.

Yeah they were both looking pretty beaten down by the season finale. Again, can't say for sure if it was deliberate or not because I'm sure the actors themselves were pretty weary but it probably was. Well, the makeup has been applied ever heavily since the invention of HD which is anachronistic to the time for women not of the 'nightly persuasion', but yeah, it is refreshing to see the actress aging gracefully. Victorian Barbie. Back then the literal equivalent would be one of those creepy Gillies dolls.

I agree about letting the actors age gracefully, and both Canadian and British TV are much better at this than US TV. I also thought some weariness fit well within the plot, so there was a chance that it was deliberate. However, I think the harsh outdoor lighting actually made everyone look haggard, and in those scenes it was the camera team's choice not to attempt to compensate for that in any way. I think once the "time of trials is over" they should go through the effort to use flattering lighting.

I also want to see fic where Julia makes amends with the mens' club-it seemed like something she'd enjoy doing otherwise. From Victor/Victorian.

Need some help. Was thinking of doing a crossover fan fiction involving my two favourite shows ...Murdoch Mysteries and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries but as they are from different parts of the 1900s I don't know how to get them together. I was thinking that Murdoch, Julia and Brackenreid where on the way back from Montreal after giving evidence in a court case and their train crashes sending them into 1920's Melbourne Australia and a murder mystery with Miss Fisher and Inspector Jack Robinson. Sounds so wrong but was the only thing I could think of.

well done why didn't I think of that. Miss Fisher's parents live in England so that would make for a great story. Thanks for that!

In fact maybe Julia and William could be friends of Phyrne and Jack and they are invited to their wedding in England. While there they could help solve a mystery.

Given they live in different countries you may have to come up with a way they met and became friends in the first place otherwise it would seem an unlikely friendship. Perhaps they met on a case that spanned Canada and Australia.

As with the solution to "Unifinished Business", some place strangers get thrown together (transportation, hotels, hospitals, etc.) is one obvious idea. Pursuit of a criminal would likely separate William and Julia (he's the cop, after all).
