I asked Shaftesbury on FB and here is what they answered to me:
"For this year's digital extension, we decided to explore deeper into the world of Murdoch Mysteries the show, rather than create a separate narrative series. We hope you enjoy this insider's look at the hard work of the cast and crew, and the historical context that makes the show so unique. Every episode will be accompanied by an exclusive look at how it is made, including companion sketches and photos to provide the best possible experience of it. As always, thanks for watching the show"
So I'm a little disappointed that we won't have a digital fiction but this is nice as well, the production of the show is still doing a lot of things for the fans.

Hey, barbarama, thanks for the info!
I haven't seen any of the web series, so I can't really comment on them, although I've seen from the boards how popular they've been. But I'm still looking forward to these 'behind the scenes' features. I just hope they'll be available to see in the UK!

Daftie Happydaftie, if you go to the cbc.ca website, these videos are actually available to watch for people outside Canada (contrary to the episodes), here's the link: www.cbc.ca/murdochmysteries/videos/making-murdoch/Enjoy

I don't think it's a spoiler, but in the "Making Murdoch" videos on CBC, Yannick comments that he's "waiting for the other shoe to drop" regarding William and Julia's engagement. He said it was too easy, and something else was going to happen. Argh! You call seven years "easy"? Granted, this comment was made while filming season 7, but do you think Yannick was trolling, or are they going to break up again? www.cbc.ca/murdochmysteries/videos/making-murdoch/I was able to watch these in Japan, so I'm assuming this should work in other countries outside Canada as well.

I think it was a troll. My read of the panel interview was they was they were trying to be mysterious about it, but Helene basically confirmed the marriage would happen. But if by "shoe dropping", Yannick means the writers manage to put it off until the end of the season - I would vote for that. I think Episode 100 is more likely, though.
