Pros: The digging joke, Murdoch scolding Henry, more 'exotic' food Cons: The rest of the ep...okay, not exactly but I found the mole people theory to be irritating after awhile and was acutely embarrassed for George. And everything that happened case wise was incredibly obvious and predictable. They could have at least thrown in a single red heron to mix things up a bit.
I dunno, it just fell really flat for me. Yeah it was 'wacky' but little else. At least if they had actually gone splunking it would have been cooler... :/

I more or less agree.
Certain elements were interesting and funny, others were just...bleh. I found there was no closure at the end of the episode. It's over and it's over and it's over and it's over and GO HOME ALREADY!!!
But that's it.
This better be the worst episode in the entire season.

I really enjoyed it.
Yes it was light and fluffy, I giggled right through it, but it was no where near as annoying as 'the filmed adventures..' .
Mind you I kept expecting James Pendrick's head to pop out of one of those holes. Loved the digging joke, William's frustrated attitude to George's wild theories and Higgins was in fine form as well. Quite good.

The episode DID have its good points, and I enjoyed them. But the ending really was a kick in the nuts. I didn't like that at all.

Oh yes, it was semi enjoyable, unlike that Filmed adventures crap. THAT was by far the worst episode for me this season (possibly ever), and I can't decide if this or the train one take second place.
For me I found there to be a few abrupt cut offs that were rather jarring. For instance, the teaser was over within seconds, almost mid sentence. And then the ending also rubbed me the wrong way, or maybe more correctly that gross dude spitting out something (tobacco?) for like two minutes did.

George was back to his usual fanciful self. It seems like Emily is bored with her life which explains why she's not really interested in George anymore.
Some funny bits but overall a very forgettable episode. MM have had worse but it's down there with the duds.

An interesting and intriguing episode I thought. I don't know much about Steampunk but this one had a feel to it. I don't have much to say about it because it didn't really captivate me however I did like the humor with George asking William why he never digs, introducing us to yet another "street" food, Henry reclaiming his lunch break and also the scene with the 2 brothers accusing the other, everytime I watch the 1st scene between them I crack up; but what I liked mostly is that I think it is the first time George has pushed his "wild" theory throughout the entire episode, he's been persistent in the past but not as much I believe. I expect much more from the next episode and hopefully it will be a very good one.

Not all Jews act like that...but most are jewelers or at least obsessed with shiny objects. I know I am. That persistence was exactly the reason I couldn't stand this episode. It was painful to watch. I guess we're at odds here for once. Don't hold it against me. Ditto.

Yes I agree, not one of the best eps. but a rollicking good time anyways. The machine was pure Jules Verne. The props dept. really did a great job on that and on all the "seismographs". I am one of the fans who loves it when science gets involved, even if it is a little (or a lot) fantastical. At the end, for some strange reason, I wanted a hot dog!

I liked when MURDOCH was so engrossed in his work/calculations that he didn't notice that the ground under his own feet started shaking. George tried to focuse his attention but in vain. Indeed MURDOCH totally ignored him. Only Julia menaged to get him out of his concentration. The first time he answered her so distracted but he did. It was cute.

Who is the more infuriating? Henry or George. I love how MURDOCH responded, the expressions on his face and his replies. It was very funny and George's reactions to Henry's comments are also hilarious. I wonder how they could have been remained serious when they were acting. Just to watch their face made me laugh.
