Lachlan is so cute. It's always amused me how his surname is Murdoch. They are both cute and very friendly. In fact, I did not recognize Arwen at first. She had to tell me she plays Mrs. Brackenreid! Boy did I feel dumb! I hadn't watched as many eps. back then. She's an awesome actress, lol. She cracks me up every time she comes on camera. I hope to see a lot more of her on Season 8. Carco suggested the Temperance League somehow merges into the Suffrage Movement, which should be interesting. But then again, if I remember correctly, the whole Temperance League thing was just a sort of chess move for Mrs. B to get Mr. B's priorities back on track. |

I only said that historically, the Temperance League lent support to the suffragette movement since the 1890's (in their own best interest) but whether or not that actually happens in MM I have no idea. I recall that Margaret joined the league at one point several seasons ago, but I also seem to recall that she and the Inspector agreed that she'd give it up. So perhaps she won't come into that episode at all. I wish she would thought cause I love the character! |

We keep hearing on the news, that so many people (Amercian's in particular) don't understand why he's still mayor. I'm no expert at all but from what I understand they can't impeach a mayor once he's been voted in. Unless he resigns he has to serve his term. In fact he's running for re-election. Suffice to say they are looking into whether that rule/law can be changed, going forward. How long are the terms? I'm also curious how he got elected in the first place. Surely there were signs if he's a serious drug addict. It's interesting that the news focuses on his weight loss rather than his drug addiction recovery. As a political leader, the news should be focusing on what he's doing for the city of Toronto. Term is 4 years...it's up in October. Probably if you google him you would find lots of info from the news commentaries, etc. Since he was in rehab all has been quiet due to privacy issues for 2 months so the only news the news got was from his brother a couple of days ago, who mentioned only the weight loss. More will come out soon no doubt. There are a few newspapers and several stations in Toronto. Some are supporting him and some are trying to get him to resign or pull out of the re-election campaign. Unfortunately, his antics speak louder than his whatever good he's done. He was a councillor for 10 years prior to becoming mayor, they've had lots of time to get to know him. I think it's a spiralling situation. Time will only tell how the story will end for Toronto. |

Funny you should say that, the person who is in the lead right now IS a woman and has been well known in Toronto city politics for years also. I'm not a Torontonion so will not delve into would be best for the job. |

I'm just glad there is some sort of challenger to the Mayor on Crack! MM makes me love Toronto, and Canada, even though I've never been there. |

I had some eps on my agenda this weekend, but HIJACKED by Free HBO weekend on DishTV. >.< Still don't have Ovation (The Artful Detective). Still no sign of MM or Artful Detective advertising anywhere in my vicinity besides the creepy Acorn cookie that was somehow slipped onto my computer and now inserts an ad everywhere.  |

It is one of my absolute favs shipper and plot-wise. I LOVE how Brackenreid gets so steamed up when George won`t wrap his head around a lake monster. That part makes me laugh out loud every time!
I like to ponder how they spend the rest of the night at the beach but I keep running up against the fact that they have to deal with Marie`s body. Sigh.

After William's "for tonight" remark in The Green Muse I refuse to believe they've remained in a state of virtuous unrequited yearning for all these years.
