Well I completely agree with your humble opinion. All the in-my-head fanfic certainly follows that premise.
IMHO, since the Pope is quite vocal on both subjects and has been for centuries, the vast majority of Catholics who are sexually active, married or not, are in the same boat as William. I prefer not to think of him as being a hypocrite but rather a good Catholic faced with a proscribed predicament. He has no control over either the Church`s position or the law.

If they hadn't already slept together in S2 when they were briefly a couple, they were lovers during the end of S2 and in S3. When William almost has sex with Anna in 301 he gets a memory flash of Julia. Her hair is undone and she looks like she's only wearing underwear, and she says his name in a intimate way. It was a memory and the fact it came when he almost had sex with someone else it says they were lovers. It was only later they had to have a celibate relationship because Julia hadn't divorced Darcy yet. They likely had become lovers again in S7.

I really hope they don't do the musical thing . I was fine with all the boundaries they pushed in S7, but musical ?? Nope. Not interested. If someone insists that it has to be done then I agree that webisode is where it should play. No, no don't "tame" Julia!! I love it when she messes with Murdoch's head and life. Absolutely! I think that's why he loves her: she constantly challenges him to push his boundaries. And she does it with class. I totally agree with you on all points eus...word for word!

Her hair is undone and she looks like she's only wearing underwear, and she says his name in a intimate way. I wish I could find that screencap in randomkiwibirds collection, which is the only large working screenscap collection I know of: period.grande-caps.net/gallery/index.php?cat=111 I also think the intimate way in which he says "Oooooh Julia" is more than the memory of a fantasy as well. I've even pondered over whether the bedroom scene in Convalescence might be referencing a memory, too. They are both in their 30s. Julia is experienced. William was clearly ready to go all the way in The Green Muse, and he only agreed to table the matter until the absinthe wore off. In other posts I'm arguing that William has no inhibitions about intimacy when he feels *invited*. Julia is clearly at a place in life, and has come to know William well enough, that she knew how and when to proffer such an invite. Credit: 22OntarioStreet

IMHO he's angsty, not preachy. He is angsty, and I love it when he gets angsty, but in Shades of Grey he also got preachy about contraception/abortion...almost minutes after he'd gotten it on in a park with Julia!!! I also haven't forgiven him for how he scolded Julia over looking at the letter Emily got from Leslie, when William would go into "detective mode" in a nanosecond if he saw something suspicious. He betrayed an appalling lack of trust for Julia's instinct's there. Also there was a weird moment in Ragtime(?) where Julia remarked that they were working on a case together, and William said "together?" - perhaps he meant to tease, but it reminded me of him putting Ruby in her place for "inserting herself" into his cases. In these moments, William comes across as pompous, overbearing, and insufferable to me. And I want Julia to take "The Great Detective" down a peg or two. Who knows, perhaps she's a master of doing that in bed. Ever wonder why she's always twiddling with William's tie... >.> Credit: 22OntarioStreetHaha, I wonder if they've ever done it in the office like the Brackenreids... You have no way of impeaching him or otherwise removing him from office? It's just crazy he's still there. We keep hearing on the news, that so many people (Amercian's in particular) don't understand why he's still mayor. I'm no expert at all but from what I understand they can't impeach a mayor once he's been voted in. Unless he resigns he has to serve his term. In fact he's running for re-election. Suffice to say they are looking into whether that rule/law can be changed, going forward. I believe that a mayor can be removed from office if proven guilty of a crime. The police are working on that but the election will come first. Too bad. I would like to see this man taken down by the cops he so despises.

Wisconsin had a similar problem in the case of their governor Scott Walker. In the mean time he's now been in office long enough to do the damage. It's hard to undo legislation once it's been rammed through.

Ever wonder why she's always twiddling with William's tie... >.> Julia dreams of removing William's tie which represents the last boundary between them. She, unlike him, seems to be ready to get through and share more intimate moment. But for him, it cleary remains the symbol of the propriety, he believes in propriety and he will not let her taking it off from him before beeing married.

Now I really want to find that collect of Julia tie/lapel-twiddling gifs that I lost track of. Because now I'm thinking of all the other things that might be done with a tie and a man that clearly has authority/obedience issues... *tie fetish pic spam ensues* I take it you're in the "40 year old virgin" camp?
