It’s not about the visuals or sound effects, Snacky. The production team does very well in that regard. It’s this “relationship” thingy that gets in the way. They seem to think all their fans are all shippers or they only want shippers for fans. Everyone else was thrown overboard without a life jacket and left there to drown, lol. It’s been all about satisfying the shippers ever since. The Jilliam stuff really did get me in the eyes and ears since midway through season 5 and by end of season 6 I was just about ready to quit. I’ll stop here as I don’t mean to spoil things for Annie as she tries to catch up with the seasons. I’m curious to know her comments once she is through. I hope you’re right when you say it’s all done now but I’m not so convinced. I think the problem is having more than one ship going on (George/Emily) is making MM a bit of a soap opera. But the problem is if there is only one ship, then wrapping it up basically ends the show for the shipper audience. The writers need to lay foundations and develop other characters. I think their time would have been better spent giving the women more independent activities - like when they were running their illegal contraception education campaigns, etc. The women also have things to do other than ship. I did enjoy their little forays in Season 7 - to the museum lecture to hear the "female adventurer" and to smoke cigars in the log cabin. I think you're viewing experience will greatly improve once a certain event is over.  |
