Why do men like Murdoch Mysteries? It's okay to be a male fan of epic romance, but I'd like to hear some of the other reasons.
It's helpful to know this when arguing for American TV distribution. (Or for luring unsuspecting male friends into giving it a shot).

My dad likes it because of the quality and creativity of the plotlines. He and I share a lot of the same tastes in television. Some of our other favorites include Monk, Criminal Minds, and Sue Thomas F.B.Eye (which is what led us to MM). I think all these programs share in the quality of their characters, as well as the uniqueness of the crimes they portray. Although Criminal Minds is a bit darker than the rest, most of the shows also share a great humor element. Of course, my dad and I differ in the fact that he finds George Crabtree amusing, while I find him totally adorable and attractive! Lol.
I'm sure though, that my dad is older than the female demographic that the show typically attracts, so I'm not sure how younger men would react to the show.

I can see how all those shows, with the exception of Criminal Minds, would suit older viewers. My (male) housemate also watches shows in the gentle mystery vein. He also really liked The Closer and House. I think he would love Murdoch Mysteries, but we don't get the Ovation Channel, and he's not about to start watching TV on a computer. I can't watch Criminal Minds myself because it ripped off too many other shows I already liked, lol. George is adorable and much put-upon, but, being shallow, I'd still want a date with William first. >.> In future episodes, I think you will be pleased to see how supportive William is in George's career and social aspirations. They really are friends. William even asks George out on a date of sorts in Season 5, lol.

I guess I didn't watch a ton of crime shows before Criminal Minds, so I wasn't too offended by the ripoffs, lol. It's not a show that we enjoy as much anymore though, since it has wandered from the psychological aspects that made it so intriguing in the first place. Also, I'm glad you like William first...that leaves more of George for me! Haha

Oh my goodness! I'm in love with it! May I steal it as my new avatar?! Also, what program did you use to make it? I've had some creative ideas flit across my mind, but my lack of technological experience is frustratingly limited.

Just let me know if you need any size modifications.
