I think I posted these pictures of a "willowy" gown for Julia in the wrong area. I thought this one was really nice for Helene Joy's body type and could be tea-dyed or silver instead of white. Also, I had the fun thought that during the honeymoon night, William could discover the zipper!!! He might even get distracted by it and go "off topic" wondering at the efficiency and high modernity of it. I guess the bra was also discovered around that time, but that's not as inherently fun as the zipper. But on reading the history of zipper, it seems it was still being used on shoes and wasn't wedding-dress ready in 1902. Waaaaaaaaa, that was such a Murdoch Mysteries thing to happen. The zipper is a Canadian invention, too! T_T

But here's the real question...when did they start using them on pants?

But here's the real question...when did they start using them on pants? Officially not until after 1913...but if we're talking "prototypes"... XD I'd rather see the zipper on Julia so William would get all fascinated and mystified about it works. And baffled if it get stuck!

William may not be the George-esque hipster, but I think he's far enough ahead of the trend to incorporate zippers. Julia just might not choose to use them, in case he gets too distracted.

The modern zipper was unheard of in William's era. It's the epitome of modern convenience - he would be amazed by one!
