I was reading a short article about the artist Magritte, and it included a reference to the silent fillmmaker Feuillade on his work. The painting had some Murdochian-looking characters in it, and the description discussed Feuillade's "stylized detectives in bowlers" in a film serial called Fantomas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_FeuilladeAs Julia would say: fascinating. I think Prop Monkey might be interested in this guy. I'm still trying to find out a bit about Feuillade, but the first thing I did was bring up some Google images of Feuillade's Fantomas. I thought peeps here might find this an interesting bit of art/style history. (I also highly recommend Magritte, for intellectual history as well as the history of art). I think you may be able to watch the Fantomas silent films on YouTube?

Interesting find, snacky! I just had the time to watch the preview tonight, but I was really impressed by the quality of the film. At first I thought it was a modern remake, because of the high definition. I'm assuming it's been restored, but looks like it may be worth the watch!

It's the sort of the turn-of-the century Breaking Bad, but it looks like Murdoch Mysteries because it was set at the turn of the century. My brain just melted. D:
