So how many famous people have crossed paths with William and is their presence plausible or not based on the storyline?
Nikola Tesla - 2 episodes- plausible
Arthur Conan Doyle - 3 episodes - both plausible and a stretch depending on the episode
Prince Alfred - plausible
Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakley - plausible
Jack the Ripper - nope
Harry Houdini - plausible
H.G. Wells - plausible
Prime Minister Wilfrid Laurier - plausible
Jack London - barely plausible
Emma Goldman - plausible
Henry Ford - plausible
Alexander Graham Bell - plausible
Winston Churchill - barely plausible
Thomas Edison - barely plausible
What I actually found hardest to swallow was how many famous people he met in season 2. There were 4 of them. Then none in S3, only 1 in S4 then he meets 4 'greats' again in season 5.
Weigh in. Do you agree with my 'verdicts' or not?

I don't think Scanlon was meant to be portrayed as Jack the Ripper, but rather a copycat.
For a minute I thought Prince Alfred from "The Prince and the Rebel" was a suspect, but I was thinking of a "Prince Albert" - had to look that up! XD
I think Churchill is plausible since he was a world traveler, and Canada was part of the Empire.
Plausible or not, I'd like to see more random historical characters thrown into the MM mix. It makes me feel like I'm learning something while in couch potato mode.

I stand corrected on Churchill. He made 7 visits to Canada, one of which was to give some lectures about his war experiences at Massey Hall on Dec 29, 1900 and Jan 2, 1901.
I love the fact that we end up looking up all kinds of information that we otherwise would miss.

I'd like to see more famous artists and thinks of the Sally Pendrick boho set.

I've just recently started watching Murdoch Mysteries a few months ago, including binging five or six episodes on some nights. At any rate, on the second episode of the seventh season, one of the bicyclists was Major Taylor. He was an early great in the sport. For a bit, Indianapolis named their track, the Major Taylor Velodrome.
