How To Get Answers Out Of People:
This has nothing to do with Murdoch, but I managed to confirm something really awesome while I was away at Arrowhead awhile ago.
If someone is talking or moving in their sleep, gently talking to them will cause them to talk right back.
Sometimes it's nonsensical gibberish like "one pound", "banana", "they're so gay for each other" etc, but the less thought one puts into what they say, the more secrets they reveal, and the more you can make them do.
It's like putting someone under hypnosis.
Begin by saying something simple like, "Hello, do you hear me".
They'll mutter a response (it can sometimes be hard to decipher), along the lines of "mhm" or "yes".
If they do not respond, try again, or say something different.
Make each query more and more intense, then start asking questions.
If you ever feel like they're messing with you, ask them something they'd only be able to answer if awake and fully thinking, such as, "How many degrees Fahrenheit is 30 degrees Celsius", or, "How much does the Prime Minister weigh".
If they're asleep, they'll say something absurd (unless they're a genius. If so, stop immediately), like "One degree", or "Twenty thousand pounds".
You can start asking them some more personal questions (but do have a limit - the last time I did this on a friend I asked who they wanted to murder and they said my name, and pretty much gave me an anxiety attack).
Onto phase three - total body control.
Begin asking them questions like, "Are You Thirsty", "Do You Want To Stretch Your Legs", "Could You Do Me A Favour", etc.
Once they reply "yes", have them do what you need them to do. Start off with something simple, like holding out a bottle of water and saying "Drink this" (they won't drink it, but they will grab it), or asking them to get out of bed.
Then you can get more complicated. Ask them to walk a specific direction, or move a specific limb.
And now do whatever you want. You might want to follow them to clean up their tracks.
PS - Make sure they never find out about this.
