Workers labouring to build a bridge across the Don River make a grisly discovery – entombed in the swamplands bordering the river are the well-preserved bodies of a man and a woman. Called to the scene, Murdoch and Ogden quickly determine that the couple was murdered. When a third body is discovered, Murdoch has to re-evaluate the nature of the crime. The third body is a tiny baby, wrapped in a blanket.

If anyone hasn't seen this episode yet, watch out for Yannick's wife (the teacher) and his daughter (Crabtree's cousin)!! They were both brilliant!

cool, i didn't know that but i thought the cousin looked similar to the teacher. anyways, i hope his wife isn't like that in real life or i'd feel very sorry for him. personally i found her to be rather over the top and way more bitchy than made sense for her character. she was snapping at every thing crabtree said and it had the effect of making me laugh at the ludicrousness of it.

They had a re-run of this last night. I didn't realise Murdoch's family was in it. I got a kick out of his wife playing the mean ol' teacher. It would have been a hoot having Crabtree hook up with her. A woman like that would have kept him on his toes! I also laughed so hard when Crabtree's cousin arrived and the look on Higgins's face as he's checking her out. Boy, talk about brows waggling hehe! Aw, they shoulda made her Higgins love interest. I thought they would have made a cute couple.
This is one of my favourite episodes. It was so touching--the love between the old couple and their love for the three children they raised. Just wonderful. So beautiful. It's when I watch stuff like this when I can hardly wait to get old. Seriously.
The episode has a Cold Case feel to it that I really like as well.
They had three airings of MM last night, so I can't remember which episode it was, but I love when Julia sashays into William's office and gives him a big ol' smooch. Woot! (Could have been Touch of Grey episode) It sorta reminded me of the way she was tying Darcy's tie in Season 6's A Walk on the Wild Side. I wish she woulda yanked Murdoch's tie clean from his vest. Hehe. What can I say. I adore forward women. Murdoch sure loved it too, judging by his reaction! Even funnier was Crabtree talking loudly before he enters the office, worried he'll walk in on something.
This episode has it all.

All of Yannick's daughters have appeared. This one was Brianna. I think she's the middle daughter. In Snakes and Ladders, his daughter Dominique played Gloria Abercrombie (one of the murder victims). In Buffalo Shuffle, his youngest daughter, Makaela played the girl in the wheelchair that was under Dr. Garland's care. Also two of his dogs have or will appear. His boxer was in Murdoch Might in Canada, at the end, when they were playing hockey outside the station. In S5 his bulldog will be in an episode.

Oh wow, I didn't realise that. Then again I don't know much about Yannick, other than he's married. Aw@featuring his doggies.

Another ep a day!
1. It was a lot of fun to see Yannick's family in this episode!
2. William seemed so disappointed when Julia had heard about the other mummy that was discovered.
3. One of the few times where I really felt bad for the people behind the crime. I just didn't want to see them go down for it!
4. It was fun to see William and Julia so excited about a dead body. I cracked up over the fact that a tattoo on a dead person would cheer him up, and Julia just knew it would too!
5. Oh man, why did Julia go and essentially lie to William about family at the end. She should have told him right then! Probably would have saved them so much grief!

This is one of my fav episodes. I enjoy these types of stories where the truth is slowly revealed, and using research and history keeps going farther back in time. Julia was fully engaged as well. And cousin Penny, oh my lol. "Is that a glass eye? I think it's staring at me" leading Murdoch to immediately assume she was a relative of George's. But I remember when I first saw it being rather taken aback at Penny ready to fool around with her young man, considering how almost everyone else in MM is so proper (at least on camera, we know many end up in trouble but it happens off camera). Not saying teens haven't always been teens, but it seemed an almost jarringly modern scene compared to most of the couples we see on MM. Somewhere (Tumblr maybe?) an MM fan joked that everyone in Yannick's family got a paycheck with MM including his dogs

I don't remember either of those things. Good excuse to watch again. Not sure you're interpreting number 5 right...
