I would recommend a 3 part drama called 37 days. It was shown earlier in the year on BBC so might be shown on BBC America. It tells the story from the archduke being shot to Britain declaring war on Germany. Its about alliances in Europe, Germany defends Austria, Britain defends France. As you may know the Act of succession was changed so that Kate and Wills first birth became king or queen so that a girl born first wouldn't be trumped by a first born boy. If the act of succession had been changed in Queen Victoria's time there would not have been a WW1 as Kaiser Willem would have also been king as his mother was Victoria's first born. If I understand you correctly, you're saying the same man would have been King of England and Kaiser of Germany? Would Britain have accepted that? Dang Europe was incestuous thanks to Victoria's children, lol.

I don't know the ins and outs of what would have happened had Victoria's daughter become Queen of Britain, Would she had married the same person. Yes, Victoria is responsible for all the problems in Europe and beyond. The Czar of Russia, Kaiser of Germany and King of Britain were all first cousins. Good thing Germany did not win otherwise we would all be driving around in BMWs or Mercs and have the best standard of living in Europe!

There is something to be said for good business sense, lol. But Hitler built the Autobahn and Mussolini made the trains run on time: efficiency can be a sign of creeping evil.

Or he didn't put it on. The bed kinda looked like he hadn't really slept in it . But wait....she was in a sex induced coma...he must have tidied up his side of the bed when he got up being so well trained by the Jesuits and all. Yeah, I don't think the champaign alone would knock Julia out. She had almost a full bottle of absinthe and was still dry-eyed and firmly on her feet compared to William. I am inclined to think that it was William's "creativity" in bed that sent her into deep sleep .

She didn't get wasted, but she probably had enough to enjoy her activities and then sleep well. Still, Snacky and I find it curious that he still seems to be following her lead in romantic relations. Sure, he fed her most (if not all) of a bottle of champagne, and it makes you wonder if he was concerned that she was going to rebuff his advances. Maybe he's still flashing back to the night of absinthe and how that ended for him.

I am very confident that William took the initiative. They have had a few “wedding nights” since they clinched the deal before they set out for New York. They couldn’t have been saving themselves for marriage this time around or perhaps for the cameras? They didn’t seem awkward being together in private surroundings. This may be the first time we are seeing them like this but it doesn’t mean it’s the first time they are together like this. It would have been odd if William was waiting for his wife to invite him and tell him what to do. You don’t really think he is still a virgin because we haven’t seen them romping in bed??? Surely, they don’t have to tell us the sex was great last night for us to know there was sex? Where’s the fun of imagination and speculation? I’d much rather think that Julia is thoroughly bruised by now .

Snacky and I were discussing that William has always seemed a bit insecure around Julia, waiting for her to act or invite him to act, and that scene with the champagne and the sofa once again highlights it. He's plying her with champagne, waiting for her to invite him to bed. At least he's showing some initiative in feeding her the champagne as a means to an end, but he's not yet fully taking initiative on his own. Maybe that's something we'll see develop over the next few eps, maybe it will remain one of those "William" things.

He looked and sounded like he was gung ho, maybe he'd had just enough of the champagne to be slightly out of William.

He also didn't show any signs of waiting to be invited, I think the marriage was consummated just a few minutes after the door closed in HMM! William had waited a long time for that and I don't think he wanted to wait any longer.

William may have seemed insecure earlier on in their relationship but after the Buffalo/Darcy situation and it was clear that they both understood how they felt about eachother, William was comfortable. What I saw in this ep. were two lovebirds with a lot to celebrate. Everything was going according to plan and all their activities for the day being ticked off the list (even the ones that didn't quite work out as planned) and it was time for bed. They both looked very happy to check that off the list as well.

Snacky and I were discussing that William has always seemed a bit insecure around Julia I've been thinking that if an entire bottle of champagne was consumed and the afternoon went by, William may have missed a dozen subtle hints before Julia had to say outright "let's take this to the bedroom."
