Speaking of Emily Grace, I really like the actress and I think she's doing the best that she can with a role that seemingly changes from week to week depending on writer's whims. I like her slightly dark, macabre side, and would like to see this more as well. I don't think she has to be shipped-just let her be herself for now. Yep. Changing her backstory literally every week. It's a wonder she doesn't fall right over from dizziness.

Also both William and George seem to be workaholics (though George less so as we have seen him socializing with Henry) so where would they get the opportunity to meet women? Work seems to be the obvious place and given that there are no female coppers and there just happen to be two female Drs./coroners it's not surprising that the men are attracted. I wonder why George is a workaholic. William is just programmed that way, but George is much more social. I'd like to see him meet a nice woman and marry more than William, lol.

That puppy is too loyal. He looks up to William and aspires to be like him. But he's actually not like William in a lot of important ways. He's his own man, and I think he could have a charming lady not Emily on his arm.

I agree about Georgina's acting skills...she can only do so much with what they give her, but it's obvious she has a lot of potential. Before I took a break from the site, I had suggested that a female investigative reporter (think Nellie Bly) would be the perfect match for George. I think the writers really fell through on the perfect opportunity to insert such a character after the arrest of Patty Glenn. Now that George and Emily are old news, it would be a great time to bring that up! If either George or Henry get new girlfriends, it would be nice to see them be from the same social stratus. There seems to a lop-sided-ness to the show in having all the girls be of a higher station than their suitors. One has to remember that the ladies of MM are modern women and men of their social class may not take kindly to 'their women' working outside the home. On the other hand the lower classes are used to women having to work and are much more accepting of this. I think that's a good point about men of their own class being less accepting of their careers and why someone like Ruby would be attracted to George, but Emily just doesn't work for him and I'd love to see him with someone else. But, I have little doubt that the writers will be giving us lots of Gemmily next season, whether it works or not.

Honestly, I would have voted against Ruby, too. William and George are bros beneath all the formalities, and another Ogden would have felt kind of incestuous.

And we are just getting into the age of truly sensationalistic Yellow Journalism! Nellie Bly surely inspired young women to be like here. Ruby. Also, if I'm right about the plot of Murdoch Takes Manhattan, that one is going to hinge on a lot of overblown newspaper reporting. There may be some reporter with some regrets in the end. lol, @annie, I just got the Gemily "old news" pun.

I hope you mean this target demographic is for the George/Emily pairing because I hope I've not misunderstood MM and I'm really a 16 y/o in disguise. Whilst I may wish I was a bit younger I really don't want to be 16 again!

If you're a Gemily fan, no way are you converting me!

Like I said previously, it seems like an obvious one given their jobs.

I think it's totally awkward and bad pairing for reasons I've listed elsewhere. But I'm always aware that's my own humble opinion, so hopefully you don't feel that trumps yours.

No, I don't take umbrage at your opinion. I actually don't have any real opinion of this pairing, I'm looking at it from a totally logical pov that their work throws them together and a friendship grew from that. Kinda like William and Julia, but I DO have an opinion on that pairing.
