Original Air Date - 31st January 2008
The body of Percy Pollack is delivered to Station No. 4 in a truck with a note addressed to Inspector Brackenreid. Brackenreid believes he may be the next victim. Murdoch uses scienctific techniques to determine the cause of death while Brackenreid uses good old fashioned police work to solve the case. The Cheif Constable realises Murdoch's potential and recommends to him that he would be a good candidate for the Inspectors position at Station No. 3.

I love this chapter i really like how Murdoch investigue it, what i dont like very much, but it was history, its tha some one couldnt grow up in his job because of their belivings, in this case cause he is catolic he cant get a best position, and all we know that he is who solve the cases no the inspector. But thanks God the things had changed, or i hope so.

I love how Brackenreid protects Murdoch from the truth, though I'm not entirely sure Murdoch wasn't aware that this was what he was doing. It's kind of hard to tell.

Upon re-watching this episode, I thought it was sweet how Brackenreid didn't let on to Murdoch that he was turned down for the position due to his religion. It didn't occur to me that perhaps Murdoch knew all along, but I could see how it could be interpreted that way. Interesting.

The Inspector wasn't so much protecting him from the truth as playing the same old Victorian two-step with the truth that people always did for the sake of avoiding a scene.

The Inspector wasn't so much protecting him from the truth as playing the same old Victorian two-step with the truth that people always did for the sake of avoiding a scene. Plus, I noticed that as soon as Stockton asked about the religious affiliation and William responded, the interview was literally concluded. I think William already knew before Brackenreid had a chat with him.
