Let's hope that William already learned about all those tricks from Julia! I'm sorry to say to you that William is not a good student in this field. ROFL! You're right about that. Read CosmicCalvalcade's remarks about the possible meaning of the dead prostitute.

Oooh I thought the manacles were from being tortured before she died! Your scenario is equally plausible though. Let's see if other foreign women "in the business" turn up! Were there any indications on her body that she had been tortured? I don't recall. No, I took the manacles to mean that.

If you've seen the preview of E2 shown at the same time as the credits on CBC you'd have seen that there was evidence of someone being held against their will (manacles) and Mrs. Dawkins wasn't aware of anything untoward happening, it seems like she's shocked at something her husband may have done. Suggests human trafficking of prostitutes to me. Yeah I guess I did watch that but I actually forgot about the stuff in it. I'm hopeful it's all just red herrings. I'm not sure that her husband was the perpetrator. They said he liked prostitutes so perhaps he was enjoying the dead girl's company and she told him her story and he said he'd put a stop to it and then they both died for it. I don't think he was the perpetrator but he was mixed up somehow and probably wanted to sell his business as a way to get out of it.

Inspector BRACKENREID must have been about to find out compromising things before being beaten. I agree and I think that whatever it is has some very powerful people behind it. I think it goes beyond the harbormaster (who I think is neck deep in it) and Mrs. Dawkins and even pt 2 will not bring it all to a final conclusion. It is something that I think will run deep into the season but in the background especially as it relates to Brackenreid’s recovery. He will have to get over his fear and his anguish knowing that there is nothing specific he can do to put a definitive end to the situation without risking getting killed or putting his family in danger. It is very interesting and I can’t wait to see the bigger picture. Patience is not my strong point. And I hope we will have a good answer in the part 2. But I also remember reading that Patrick McKENNA said that his character could be killed so yes it could have a bigger picture.

Well if they want Brax back as inspector, it'd certainly speed things up. But I don't like this method of 'killing off' the problems. It's too contrived and simple for my tastes. I don't want it to become a recurring theme. *cough* Darcy *cough*

BTW, all this CC talk is confusing the hell out of me! Where CC? You mean when we abbreviate your name? CosmicCalvalcade is really long to type. btw, I caught a whiff of William hypocrisy last night. In Blood and Circuses William dismisses Tarot out of hand even though he believes in the miracles of the Bible. The fortune teller calls him on that. William ends up going to her for his fortune even though he spends the whole episode dissing her tricks.

If Station House 4 went to confront the problem on the docks, it seems like the Inspector should be leading the charge, not William. I kind of hope they do kill him off. That will make a nice clean break of getting him out of the way so we can have Brackenreid back where he should be.

Wow snacky, that was pretty slow of you, unless it's the first time you've seen it....

I always call CosmicCalvalcade CC, but I didn't today, so I was confused by the complaint. I have to confess to skimming throught the large debate about Stockton because I already agree Giles replaced him.

The Chief Constable is the head of the police otherwise he wouldn't be called the CHIEF Constable. It's still the same now.
