I call troll on your visitor. It's FICTION, you can have any nightgown you wish, including no nightgown at all if that's what you want. The cheek of some people. They probably couldn't write if they tried, NO IMAGINATION. These chemises look pretty sexy. Pinterest page with era nightwear/underwear for future fanfic research: I can't really look into it because Pinterest is bugging people to log in now. I refuse.

Some period nightwear. 1900 Circa 1900 1890s (Silk) 1910 Bell Epoque (See-thru!) Circa 1900 1870s (cotton and silk) Dressing gown circa 1900. Doesn't look like cotton to me. 1907 1905 silk and lace 1905 Tea Gown - but I had to throw it. 1905 tea dress wtf talk about risque Okay I think case closed, there was a lot of sexywear options available at the time.

Finally read the actual fic! Sweet and mellow! Yeah, it was totally saccharine sweet, but I feel like William would be on this issue. Plus, as I've said, he needs a new ring to play with since the other one he's been fondling fiddling with for years is now on Julia's finger!

Ooh, pretty pics! So much pretty I would love to see on Julia and Emily this season! This gown was my actual inspiration when I was writing about the nightgown: www.vintagetextile.com/new_page_21.htmIt's circa 1910, but it was close enough-and sooooo pretty!

No pic. Which one? However, I love love love the circa 1908 one at the bottom: www.vintagetextile.com/new_page_726.htmSeriously, it makes we want to get married again. I'm not kidding. Plus, the Commodore Perry connection is a nice link as well and of particular interest given I live in Japan.

I think what bothered me was that it was anonymous and done in a place where I can't respond- I'm fine with debate and discussion, but that was neither. Thanks for your encouragement and for letting me vent. I'm good now.

youtu.be/pDnotcCceK4It's been eons since I've seen it, but you're right-that was totes foreplay! And we are talking W/J now and not D, correct? 'Cause I have no desire to watch foreplay between D/J. Those are bedroom eyes if I've ever seen them. But uh, I swear I read somewhere that it literally had the word sex in the background...probably a joke since I've never seen it. Or I misread the thing. Sure we are. I kinda just say whatever random stuff pops in my head. Darcy's idea of foreplay would be like, touching her shoulder once and squeezing it. "Maybe I didn't express my affection for you properly in the past, but I really do admire you Julia." Or whatever the heck he said before she wounded his 'manly pride'. You're right-I'd heard about that before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltEvzsLUFBc But I just don't see it. I'm all for theories, but I just don't think that's one.

Some other nice fashion plates... Edwardian...no date. Edwardian - no date Edwardian - but I'm sure later than 1902. Edwardian 1913 - This is still called Edwardian, so the above slimline styles could be this late. Edwardian Edwardian Edwardian 1909 - pretty slim. 1912 1902!!!! Chiffon 1903 1909 1907 - I think this was the "shape" that was still going on, not the slim ones above. 1900s 1911 1907 1907

I have triumphed in my research and found "silk negligee" dated 1902! I think you are justified in using the material you want.
