Hints/Spoilers please! More later but let's just say Dr Grace is getting more action than Julia...... Do you think the outrage will be against the sapphism or against Lillian because people were building up some Lillian-hate over her attitude toward the "sell-out" Julia and general cliche "man-hating"?

Well, there's going to be some real flak over this episode---just watched it in the Eastern time zone. Ah, yup. I'm watching it now on PVR. So much going on that I didn't catch it all the first time around. Me too on time shifting though I do have it PVR'd as well.

Lol! True that! There will likely be a flurry of FB people saying "that's it for me." That said, W & J seem to be on good terms....Julia seems upbeat, William pre-occupied as usual. Is this going to be a good kind of flounce? Downside to now being gainfully employed is that I no longer get to watch MM live. I imagine it's going to be the bigoted kind of flounce. (Pic shamelessly stolen from Brian Laufman's twitter). I for one am pleased as punch that MM is showing some spine on this. Hope there was a table of crumpets in the foreground.

And it's Family Day here too, so there might have been more actual families watching this together than usual...so they really just went for it and didn't give a f**k. Kudos CBC, kudos. Obviously this is all going to crash and burn very soon but it'll be fun while it lasts. Except, it does make me wonder if her position as coroner is now in jeopardy. HINT HINT, she resigns and Julia takes over again?!?! Also getting the distinct impression that she will be back with George by the end of the season. Or that's just what I assumed would always end up happening.

For once I didn't hate Lillian and she seems to have come to terms with William too! I definitely see Lillian as a flawed character. Must say I'm raising my eyebrow at all the twitter comments that seem surprised at this "sudden" turn of events. Some people seem to think Emily was dating George right up until this episode. Also there is talk of Emily/Lillian seeming "forced", as if Emily/George wasn't extraordinarily forced as well. Well, I guess that's a loyal shipper fandom I'll never be able to understand. Who knows where the ship-worm will turn in the future, though. For now, I think it was the only relationship Emily was "suggested" as being in all season. I'm proud of MM for confirming it. I hope they get some recognition for it.

Because it was an Emily centered episode I didn't really get into it even though the storyline was strong (and the costumes breathtaking), but I did love the dynamic Brackenreid/ Emily/ Charlie, lots of tense moments. However I enjoy very much the controversy this episode is creating on the CBC FB page and thanks to gutsy writers to go ahead with this storyline even though some people are clearly unhappy with this. It's 2015 and people have still troubles accepting something that was clearly happening (even though behind closed doors) in 1902…..and btw in Antique Greece as well. Their loss if they stop watching the show because of this, I won't miss them for sure

For once I didn't hate Lillian and she seems to have come to terms with William too! She and William actually have a bit in common: they are "self-made" people embracing the future.

But I'll know more once I actually check it out.

There is some US meme like "Gives Zero F**Ks"...I should confirm the exact wording and make a celebratory caption to that effect. I second the kudos to CBC.

The problem with Emily is we haven't had much exposure to her, and the character development hasn't been consistent when we have. It's been almost impossible to get on "Team Emily" for that reason. If we can identify with her more down the road, we can come back to "Emily-centric" episodes and enjoy them more. I think this episode is going to be a blast just for all the costumes and knowing all the fuss it's going to cause. I can't wait!

There is a very mystifying idea that George and Emily were actually together this season even though George was dating Edna and Emily was hanging out with Lillian.

As far as I can tell, it's just a few stupid people making such a big deal about this new direction. And I was wrong, it's all older people complaining about it and threatening never to watch again.

There's a lot of outrage about Emily/Lillian on Facebook. Somebody expressed disgust that people can accept and allow their children to watch a show with murder and violence in it, but the moment a same-sex relationship is shown, it's 'not a family show'. I have to agree. Yep, the a lot of covert bigotry is about to come out to play. And it's going to start with: "I'm not homophobic but...(myriad excuses)...OUTRAGE ABOUT MURDOCH MYSTERIES!!!"

I keep thinking of the bloopers video where George calls Wm. about 'matters of the heart'. That's either Edna or Emily, I'd think. I only noticed tonight that Lillian is listed in the credits with the regular cast....does that mean she's not just passing through?
