No he was quite happy at SH5 because he could use 'salty' language. Which doesn't really make sense considering all of Brax's swearing...Do as I say, not as I do? Swearing is only allowed in Cockney dialect apparently...

Yes we're into the sixth episode but the first three were mysteries and OTW 1&2 were also darker than some previous episodes. We've had two shipper episodes so far and from the title of the next one it may be fan service but not specifically shipper. The writers definitely have their work cut out for them getting back on the solid mysteries track. It makes me wonder when the titles are available so early whether or not that title arc comes first and the mystery gets fit in. I seem to recall something like that being discussed in The Making Of...Tour de Murdoch. If you look back through the titles list you'll see that in the early seasons the title reflected the murder almost exclusively. If you think about each season having an arc, it seems to me that there might be an arc this season that relates to the success and notoriety of William's detective work and Station House 4 - hence titles like "appreciation society" and "CrabtreeMania". These may not be the fan service they sound like. Yannick also said there would be a lot of changes this year - I'm still curious whether he meant just the marriage. No one has gotten a major promotion yet...he can't mean to a more "bubblegum" flavored show since it's supposed to be "10% darker". The mining ep will probably be a big turning point.

I remember the salty language part but not the wife part, lol. I believe he called her 'the missus' and there was a suggestion from Brackenreid that he wasn't up to much with her. Of course that was to get him going so he could put him in the cells. Yes, that's why "slugger" threw the punch that got him in trouble.

I'm a reluctant shipper, I'm not usually into the relationships in shows but there's something so compelling about the W/J ship. However, now they're married it's time to get back on track. I loved the show from the first episode I saw, the mysteries were compelling and the way William solved them was unique. I didn't know about the relationship until a couple of episodes in. Yes, they kissed but I didn't know all the history so it took a while, and watching the older episodes, to figure it out. I guess what I'm basically saying is I originally watched the show for the mysteries and though I've turned into a shipper I'd like to get back to the balance we had in earlier seasons. I'm clearly an avid shipper but, like you, what drew me to the show was DetectiveGadget!William, the solid mysteries and the tie-ins to true history. I'm working on a super geeky spreadsheet that tracks all kinds of things starting from S1. Did you know that there were 15 inventions and gotchas is S1 alone? I've only just finished S3 with this because I have to pay attention and not have it on as background noise. Oooh, this would be helpful for the "guide book" project! Some I missed in my own "gotcha" list - like the bicycle pizza delivery, lol.

I didn't mention alpha!Julia because I don't have a kink for Alpha!Julia. The kink is in what William is thinking of alpha!Julia

Seems like you're like me, I track things as well though I haven't gone to the extent of making up a spreadsheet yet! It evolved from the factoids MM was putting out during the 100th ep. It's also helping me track filming locations. I've been scouring google street views and info on historic properties in loads of places. I finally found Judge Wilson's house from TGM! I'm impressed!!

I totally agree with this. I'm totally ready for the return of alpha!Brax, alpha!George, and of course alpha!William. Oh, and of course, mysteries. You left out Alpha!Julia! Something bugged me about seeing Julia all smiley after and pleased and turned on by alpha!William in the last few episodes. I hope the show doesn't forget that Julia is a Woman of Action. I want to see William extremely pleased that she is. Yes Julia is a woman of action but I'm sure she's pleased to see how her man is turning into Jungle!William, it may make for an interesting love life....

No he was quite happy at SH5 because he could use 'salty' language. That's also hard to imagine since he's such a teddybear now, lol. Perhaps it was the influence of the boys at SH5. Now he's at SH4 his true self has come out.

William had that side all along - Julia just didn't get to see him on the job much!

I'm impressed!! Ugh, need to get back to working on the map, too... Don't sweat the map. I think I've found a way to use Google Maps. Still in experimental phase but on hold while kitchen is being painted. Shhh....it's a secret !

Ugh, need to get back to working on the map, too... Don't sweat the map. I think I've found a way to use Google Maps. That would be awesome since you can upload pics! My hopes for the Novels one was to enable a group project with annotation features - but a Google map would be better. Especially if we could use tags to control the view between Filming Locations and MM World. Can you share the maor is it attached to your email account?
