I'd bid up that guy at the Bachelor Auction. Wait, which body are we supposed to be celebrating again...?

I'd bid up that guy at the Bachelor Auction. Wait, which body are we supposed to be celebrating again...? Does it really matter? On a related note: Watched Murdoch Au Natural with hubby, and he commented that it must be my favorite because Murdoch got naked. (This was before he saw it.) Unfortunately no, honey. Unfortunately no. A real, crying shame.

Does it really matter? On a related note: Watched Murdoch Au Natural with hubby, and he commented that it must be my favorite because Murdoch got naked. (This was before he saw it.) Unfortunately no, honey. Unfortunately no. A real, crying shame. The fact that people got naked in Murdoch Au Natural is what makes the "light-heartedness" of the whole show an *edgy* style rather than grandma's nice mystery show. MM is really not afraid to "go there" at all. This is something I think reviewers who have not watched many episodes of the show easily miss. MM covers whatever topics the writers want to cover, the actors do whatever they want to do, Mr. Prop Monkey does whatever he wants to do - but it's all put together in the MM music box style. I think we should come up with a word for the style: "hybrid" is not doing Murdoch Mysteries justice. "Music Box" is a bit too precious. I've thrown about "Surrealism" - but that is later, and MM doesn't use a lot of direct symbolism. "Noir" is too dark. There's not enough fantastic gadgets for full-on "Steampunk". But I think the style is more about the aesthetic anyway. It's a bit slick, a bit stagey, a bit toy store/candy shop. I'm sure everyone who works on MM likes to think that each episode is a work of art. Why shouldn't it be defined by a declared style? Why shouldn't MM have a manifesto? Perhaps MM is "edgy" in it's own way.
