(And I'm scared of what people will do to me for inspiring you if William has some sort of breakdown - or worse tie-betrays Julia - in this fic!) Let us know what happens soon! Run, William, ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! I don't know about posting the other parts now. People seem to resoundingly hate this one, even you-almighty queen of angst! I've kinda lost interest in it, as I'm not really interested in writing the same fic repeatedly changing only a few details. We'll see.  I know it's a different fandom, but angst was the time honored standard in SG-1 fic. Particularly Jack-whumping. |

I know it's a different fandom, but angst was the time honored standard in SG-1 fic. Particularly Jack-whumping. It's not so much the angst as the lack of resoluton. It's also the type of angst. William saving himself for Julia is almost sacred at this point. William being wounded because he brought a book to a gunfight, William praying at Julia's bedside after her miscarriage, William hearing Julia's ship has been lost at sea with no way of knowing what has become of her - those are all forms of "whumping" angst that I'd find acceptable. I'd even find someone putting drugs in William's tea, driving him to the brink of madness - so paranoid he sees Brackenreid and Julia as enemies - great angst! Did William just shoot Julia? Super angsty! But just as it has taken 8 seasons to get to the wedding, the virgin theory requires the assumption William has saved himself all that time. The idea that his tie might come off for anyone but Julia just seconds before the wedding is nerve-wracking!!!! I hope that didn't end up like it sounds it ended up! In any case, please don't deprive readers of the resolution/ending! This scenario is wigging me out! Ps. I was partial to Daniel-whumping myself. |

No. I'd already planned Brax to the rescue just because of that scene snickering at William in the brothel. I think that clued him into William's state of mind there, and that he'd watch out for William even if he did think him hilarious. Because they're bros! I swear-that's got to be one of my fave scenes right there. Brax is no Murdoch, but he could read him like an open book in that scene. |

Yet, they're friends in their own odd, unique way, and yes, I think Brax would have W's back in an out-of-William experience-which is also a bro thing as well. It's definitely a unique relationship. |
