I can't wait to watch this! But I'm still watching the panel from the Wedding Event... Those who watch the 100 episodes one first - Yannick said it made him cry! Aww.

The "Man of the Future" part made me wonder: Is William a man of the future? Though he wants to be, and he gets very excited by miraculous advances in modern technology, he's too mired in tradition to appreciate the big visionary changes that are coming. These visionary changes are left to George (whose often leaps too far, into the fabulous).
Since Julia is more forward-looking than William, conversation with her at least continues to pull him forward as well. But can he be a true Man of the Future, or is Tesla's "message from the future", a sad/ironic message that he will always be stuck in the past, separated from "the future" somehow?

To me, William while lacking the true vision of a Tesla, etc. is an important bridge between the two worlds. He's very much a man of tradition who wants to be a part of the future. You're right, he is mired in tradition, but he wants to move forward, and if you want to say that we're judged by the company we keep, then his company is indeed significant: Tesla, George, Julia, Pendrick are all moving him forward-he wants to go, he just needs help getting there. I would even argue that Brax is pushing him forward-despite his traditionalism, he has encouraged William to keep moving, keep investigating, and not always accept established practice as law. Serious LOLS at Tom and Jonny playing air guitar and that being Tom's favorite scene. Of course that was far too emotional for a couple of boys, and they had to lighten the mood.

I'm on my Kindle now so its easier to retype than to quote. I LOVE this "company you keep" idea. William is drawn to the flame of the future - even Sally Pendrick! This is what he really means when he says he "respects" her. I also agree about Brax - he wants William to "upset" people - especially the toffs of the old world.

Here's the official recording of the panel. Got a bit more than the other. Thanks for posting the longer version - I hope I can see Yannick's impression of the horse ride on this! That corset episode that Helene mentions sounds angsty!

Alright lets say a thing:
Favourite 100 episodes segment? Jonny and Thomas's shovel guitars. I'm sorry that was just beautiful!
Q&A Panel:
Did you guys catch Helene, discussing the horse riding scene from the wedding? It wasn't just us putting in innuendos.
I really enjoyed the bit of background that they gave about Canada's PM's visit. I thought that it was really interesting.

Absolutely: Yannick was apologizing for being so naughty, not because of the shoddy editing. OMG, he was so embarrassed! But he couldn't resist doing that imitation, and Helene couldn't resist joking about it: so obviously they want to do the innuendo, it totally cracks them up when they are doing it, but it's kind of embarrassing to have to spell it out when people don't get it. Yannick is so cute when he's embarrassed. I have a feeling he knows it, too. It's kind of awesome Helene's not embarrassed at all. Totally nothing to apologize for! This is such an outstanding example of what Emily Landau totally failed to understand about the cult aspect of Murdoch Mysteries.*dips crumpet in absinthe*

And that said cult has grown quite well over the years! It's quite bigger than when I first started watching around six years ago!

I'm very curious about the "Murdoch Mysteries Rapture" that occurred on this forum, though. There was a specific set of people here, including the moderators, who suddenly vanished. I thought they went to FB, but Talbotrail says this isn't so. Was it dismay over the Darcy wedding? Or was it the opposite - too much shippiness and discussion around it?

Well I just looked back though the episode discussions, and it's difficult to tell. It seems like most people dropped off after Season 5/6 significantly and just added little tidbits to season 7 posts and barely around for season 8 posts (though we are only 4 episodes in) But I have no idea where they all disappeared to. They could have gotten wrapped up in their own real lives, and quite honestly forgot about this forum (I know I have been guilty of that!). It is curious though how they all did disappear like that. Maybe Terrence Myers has a hand in it somehow..?

Where did they come from and where did they go?

We could be facing a Lake of Burning Fire for our salacious speculations on the horse riding scene...
