The Portishead thread gave me an idea for a game to help our fellow MM altar-dusters along to Deity-hood, introduce each other to good music, and possibly give vidders new songs to work with.
THE RULES: Post a vid that you think is as good or better than the vid above it. Don't post 2 in a row - post in response to previous person. Commentary encouraged, esp. if the music can apply to MM somehow.

I will start by setting the bar low. This has a bit of a Jilliam connection in that it was one of FallenBelle's fanfic inspiratins... Next post should recommend a song as good or better than this.

I have a Spotify playlist with 36 37 songs in it. I AM ARMED AND READY! *laughs evilly*
Anyway I see this as Murdoch at the end of Season 5.
*throws meek little water balloon* I'm saving the big ones for later.

So, I have to repost my songs, or just leave them where they are?

So, I have to repost my songs, or just leave them where they are? Start with a new song!

I shall throw down with Yoko Kanno and Steve Conte's "Call Me Call Me".
This is an old song that will be very familiar to people who watch anime...but that will be to few people on this forum. I loved this song when I first heard it, and it taught me that people got into anime largely because of the music.
William/Julia theme: Start of season 4, either William or Julia waiting, sadly, for each other to call. Doubt this would work for a vid though, for the same reason country music doesn't work. Not period, but not quite catty-cornered enough to work as irony. The sound is actually so period-bound to the modern era as to be distracting.

I'll post this again, just so that it's all in one place. Distractions-by Zero 7 feat. Sia. Hate the video, love the song.

I'm breaking the rules by posting two in a row, but if I'm still not working in January, maybe I'll teach myself how to make vids and will make one for this song-If I Can't Have You-by Zero 7 feat. Sia. I would use it for season 1/2 Julia trying to get William's attention, as the song is about a woman trying to get the object of her affections to notice her. However, if anyone else steals it before then, go for it.

Okay same band as before but this time it's more William post season 3---> Ooh, never heard that one! Also, I'm officially having a very creeped out moment. I don't listen to Lifehouse, and I'm not sure I've ever even heard any of their songs. But while I was doing some chores and thinking about stuff before I sat down at the computer, I thought of some music for this list and that band name randomly popped into my head. I'm questioning the time-space continuum, or at least some troublesome higgs-boson entanglements right now...

Cleaning out my video list, I think the meaning of this song could be "re-adjusted" to mean William's Catholic Dark Places...
And I'm still in my "popmusic" playlist guys - the bar is not that high to throw down with some more righteous tunes!
Btw, someone might want to cover "William and Julia happy and in love" because all my music is going to be downbeat and moody - representing angst, longing, broken heart, and all that jazz.

Oh quite a lot of my songs are there two, but I do have some more rather "cheery" ones I'll though in here eventually. But I'm going to sit on those for a bit because I can. But right now I'm going to break away from the Lifehouse songs for a bit and do Lonestar's "Thought It Was You" As angsty goes this one is near the top. It's very William of the Klondike-post Darcy wedding.

Pulling out some heavier artillery here... I believe Gloria Reuben is Canadian? This song was the opener for a short-lived TV show, but is pleasant to listen to in a Destiny 7 sort of way, and IMHO it deserved better recognition than being a TV show song. Let's call it a wedding/honeymoon song, or possibly a "visions" song. Closest to non-angst you're going to get from me.

Well we don't know much about her father-just Julia's distorted perceptions, but I don't think it would have made a whole lot of difference. He wasn't at Julia's first marriage (neither was I alas. I was pacing up and down the room yelling "NO") So I doubt he would have been at her second. But I think his death did help bump William along that path again. (I can't remember the lines exactly but) "If you could chose again what would you chose?" "I would take a chance with love." I think that whole conversation was one of the things that prompted the oh-so famous line of "I don't want a few months of happiness, I want a lifetime."
