HI
Im known as Gibsongirl on all my boards because of my love of all things Victorian. I live in an edwardian age house in Wisconsin USA. My husband and I have redone the house back to its original look. Murdoch and the setting of the show is what appealed to me. I love seeing the beautiful victorian houses, the elaborate interiors and the wonderful clothes.
Our funishings are antiques so of course I often notice the antiques in the background of Murdoch as well.
I just happened onto Murdoch while ordering a season of Miss Fisher. I read about it and saw the great offer of first 4 season together for $45 and couldnt resist taking a chance. We're so glad I did. I watch very little network tv here in the States. Theres way too much so-called "reality" and so I have a library of shows on dvds. My favorite tv show besides Murdoch is Smallville. (Ive been a Superman fan all my life. Though I didnt like the new Man of Steel movie I do have all the others on dvd.) Ive purchased the other season of Murdoch since also.
My other fave shows currently are Downton Abbey (though my interest has waned with them in mid 20's and with Matthew's death. and Castle (Hey they got married!!!)
I noticed OVation channel runs Murdoch several times a day but under the name Artful Detective. This makes it confusing trying to get other people to watch after I told them all about it as Murdoch's. Ive had to correct it to Artful Detective here in the US.
I do feel a kinship with Canada because I wrote a book about Civil War era octagon houses and there were 70 built in Canada so Ive done alot of research of them and included them. My husband laughs because when a certian city or province is mentioned on Murdoch I shout out there is--or was-- an octagon house there. LOL
Sorry for the long introduction. I look forward to Season 8 when it comes out on DVD. Ive read mixed reviews about the 100th episode. Very few shows seem to get the evens like long-awaited weddings right for the fans. Hope MM did it right.

The show is aired out of order in most markets (including other time slots on CBC) so jump in whenever!

HI
Thanks for the welcome. Ive started browsing the episode threads.
I have seen all of the eps in order through 7 (on dvd) and we started over on Season 1. Just watched the Conan Doyle one. Elementry My Dear Murdoch. I like the actor who plays him. Very believable as Doyle.

I'm also engaged in a "rewatch" project on weekends, but it is going very slowly. It didn't happen yesterday because of a Daylight Savings Time misunderstanding.
