This vid makes me ship George/Henry and the twins. Yet Emily/Lillian does nothing for me. Wait you haven't even met Lilian yet! Neither have you! I don't like her with George because there's no real chemistry there, and I felt that it was forced on the part of TPTB. Right now, that's also how I feel about Emily/Lillian. I don't ship with abandon. As for abovementioned crack pairing: H: Come on George, I got a chance, here! Be a bro! G: Henry, I'm not going to be your wingman so you can get laid with conjoined twins! H: But they're twins! Conjoined twins, no less! It's an instant threesome! And besides, how many men can lay claim to that? G: I have no desire to see your junk. H: You could keep your eyes closed? I'm pretty sure the conversation went something like that. Only, the dialogue was more period appropriate. But I can't be bothered to think of early-20th-century equivalents of bro, wingman, and junk right now. But, you get the idea.

Well CC can certainly support you on the that-might-have-been-gay gifs for both George and Henry: all you have to do is put those two gifsets together like chocolate and peanut butter! As long as George was just being a goofball sidekick, I wasn't pairing him with anybody. But if he's going to go strutting around in a suit now...I don't know... George/Henry is just is viable to me as anything else. Actually I only support Emily as a sapphist at an intellectual level. I think it's harder for non-lesbian women to ship lesbian unless that pairing would be a turn on for them in an M rated fic. What I'm doing is saying "in principle this ship should be there" even though it wouldn't float my personal boat.

Not because I'm anti-gay, but when I was getting into SG-1 fandom, and was keeping an open-mind, I thought that there was too much misogyny associated with slash-too much of it was anti-woman rather than empowering homosexuality. Also, it disturbed me that to promote their slash OTP, a lot of slashers (most of whom were women) would portray the female characters in horrible ways. The female characterization made me ragey-eventually, I got introduced to a couple of slashers who could write strong, likeable women, and while I didn't ship it, it didn't make me stabby either. This is why I also dislike it when folks criticize traits or behaviors in Julia and Emily that they find endearing in the boys. Grrr. But, I must admit, you don't really see a lot of it here-which is why I stick around. But Facebook OTOH... I primarily shipped S/J, because I had a thing for older men when I was younger-so the dynamic made sense to me. But, my two SG-1 fics I wrote were Jack/another and Sam/Pete. So, I wasn't a rabid S/J shipper either. To each their own, I guess.

Also, somehow I didn't think you guys would go on about slash pairings....silly me. I managed to read the first chapter of the Gillies/Murdoch one and nothing really happened in it, but I was afraid to read further and get a permanent scar on my brain. Also, in case you didn't know, there is another slash fic between Guillaume and Murdoch and on a different fan fiction site there was one between George, Murdoch and Brax. I ran away from that one as fast as possible, but I did read the Guillaume one because somehow it seemed vaguely plausible.

Also, did you guys catch my little cheekiness? I put the scene where Henry says he is left handed right before the scene where he says he is right handed.

Hey CBCMurdoch actually retweeted this! I think they just have an aversion to songs...possibly because of legal reasons. But I accidentally used the playlist link so the jilliam wedding vid will play directly after this one. But apparently they screwed up the link and it doesn't play.

Not because I'm anti-gay, but when I was getting into SG-1 fandom, and was keeping an open-mind, I thought that there was too much misogyny associated with slash-t I see your general point about the misogyny, though I never realized it was there in the Stargate fandom - I could have just been oblivious, though. I just wasn't a Sam shipper because I wasn't that into Sam. I was later Daniel/Vala shipper because I liked Vala better. So it's more about the character chemistry (that I see) for me. But I do think about why I don't ship female couples: I guess with male slash, as much as you politically kick yourself for doing it, you're going to put someone in a "female" role, so it's still easier for my shippy brain to go there. The sapphist couple on MM is something I want to see happen for intellectual and political reasons, but it's not something I'd write steamy fic about.

I'm confused about their policies - they played the Everybody Rules the World vid. Maybe they just pick stuff randomly from the onslaught. Anyway, congratulations! I'm sure everyone knows about your vids, anyway. You're one of only 5 people who makes MM vids after all!

Meh, it's safest not to speculate. They are like the Great and Powerful Oz, just those peeps behind the curtain with god knows what bosses to answer to and motives of their own. You could always plan a sneak attack hug to get revenge.
