And if Henry asks her out on a date, I hope she just says no. He's a lout. Henry can be funny but you're right, he's a lout nonetheless. I'm still ticked that he stole those things from the locker room in the Empire Club. WTF??? I have no illusions whatsoever that that kind of behaviour regularly went on with coppers; it was alluded to in The Great Wall, but I have spent 9 seasons under the happy illusion that the lads at Station House #4 followed William's aboveboard example. I am very disappointed with Henry. (I also don't believe he's just acting out because he is upset with Mary Lawrence. Let's add obtuse to Henry's list of character flaws.) I was upset to see Henry steal the items, I'd really liked him up until then. I think his superior position has gone to his head.

I kind of like it when the writers rough Station House 4 up a little - nice 19th century cops wonder into Disney territory.

I don't have a problem with that in order to keep things interesting but it doesn't stop me from being annoyed when they do. I agree with Hodge that Henry's new rank has gone right to his head, all the more reason to be setting an example for the others. At this rate, Henry will find himself beings disciplined and possibly bumped back.

I think what it basically comes down to, is Henry is as dumb as a bag of hammers, and has been promoted above his abilities....I suspect most us have worked with people like that. I know I have, and it can be exasperating. It can also be very hard and stressful on the person involved, because they know and are waiting to be found out.....

The coppers in station 4 have never been like Murdoch. We've seen them beat people up etc. Taking the items from the bathroom isn't that big a deal compared to things the coppers have done before.

Perhaps you've got it here and they're going to demote him just as George is promoted back up the ranks....

I thought George had been promoted to beyond his abilities when he was made a detective. Higgins was fine when he was last in the show, him and George were back on an equal dynamic.

I have to disagree with you there. George was not promoted beyond his abilities if you compare him to some of the inspectors we've seen from time to time. George was not promoted to WM's level, but then who would be? Like most people who are smart enough to know they are surrounded by much smarter people but not smart enough to know how to handle that, Henry just makes himself look bad when he tries to behave the way he thinks he "should." He's got an inferiority complex and he knows he deserves it, which has to a special kind of hell. I sympathize with Henry, but like most of you, the thefts were petty in every sense of the word. It is kind of sad, really, that George's friendship seems to be wasted on him. Maybe he will redeem himself.

Oh you poor man...very dedicated of you not to troll our episode discussions. Of course George didn't kill Archie Brooks! You knew that in your heart. I'll have to research the UK start date. I'm sure MM@CBC has tweeted or FB that answer. One thing to look for is the Christmas special. It's a 2 hour stand-alone movie that will be aired in Canada and the UK on Dec. 21st. You will actually get to see it first!

George is too fanciful to make a good detective, he also needs help when he does work on a case. He's great in uniform, but I've never believed he is detective material.

Thanks lovemondays, any answer is appreciated.to be honest, I havnt trolled the forum cos I only just got my tintranet worldwide webbing sorted. Mind you, my carrier pigeon delivers messages quicker than virgin. Talking of which, there's a young lady in my street who,m I wouldnt mind courting. I also heard that this is the last series isn't it? I really do hope not. But if it is, I,d like it to end with Julia having a miracle pregnancy, brackenreid saying "bloody ell" as Margaret announces she,s up the duff, George and Emily have a baby and call it "gemilly"

At this point CBC would be committing ratings suicide to cancel the show after this season. The general concensus is there will very likely be a season 10 but maybe not another after that. CBC usually announces their next season lineup in April. As to all the other, well let's just say you have a vivid imagination.
