Loved geekyscience! Julia and Emily working together! That was nicely done! That was way better than the weak suffragette plot! Love George's lockpicking skills, and also how he ultimately saved the day. He knew when to walk away and fight another day, and saved not only his life, but also William's. I also loved stud!George-even if he didn't care for it! I kinda wanted to smack William for being incredulous that someone wanted to seduce George-of course they did! Even if she was scary.William, you got shot! Know when to retreat and fight another day, okay? Besides, you get to convalesce with Julia now. You know she's going to take very good care of you. Was I the only person that had strains of Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing going through my mind?
The important question is - was William wearing his hat when he got shot? It's a good thing George is the ultimate wingman! He deserves a raise! So Julia didn't scold William for getting in trouble? He was wearing his Klondike hat...so no protective powers there. Or at least less skepticism from Murdo. He jumped to a conclusion this ep as well, putting poor George down unnecessarily. I'm sure that happened before the scene we saw of them in their robes. Or after.

I also liked that the writers tackled a storyline about the lands of the Indians being stolen for prospectors to go after silver, gold and all kinds of other resources, very well done. I'm very interested and glad to see this storyline, too!

I'm so sad. My Internet was out when I woke up this morning. I had to go to the library to use this computer, and I'll only have my Kindle later. So I still haven't seen All That Glitters. I have some appointments tomorrow, and my schedule is such that I'm not sure I will even be able to watch it tomorrow if I have the Internet back. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

So I FINALLY got a copy of the episode
Without any more delays my thoughts-------->
Stationhouse No. 4 doesn't go to murders. Murders come to them.
First off It's weird seeing Murdoch out of his usual suit & I was rather pleased that George remarked upon it. I'm also glad to see Julia & Emily together again as friends without Emily being all snarky with Lillian Moss.
George is so not an outdoorsy person. I thought it adorable that he didn't really get a nights sleep- and that his pillow didn't help. And did I see some Snarky!Murdoch? Yes. Yes I did.
I liked how this episode really touched on the history and contraversy surrounding the Natives and their land. This is a significant part of history, that is easily ignored.

Who knew Brackenreid could actually be a talented artist.
I feel for the native Canadians and it's good that MM highlighted the unfairness of what happened to them. Julia tenderly holding Williams injured arm was adorable.

I liked this episode much much better than the one from last week. I enjoyed the cheeky references to Tom Thompson (which I learned about only last week, when people - mostly Canadians, actually - started mentioning that Brackenreid's paintings were clearly a reminder of this artist), so I figured the young guy was him. In terms of humor too, I loved how George was harassed by Mack….What a ladykiller this George is !!! I also liked that the writers tackled a storyline about the lands of the Indians being stolen for prospectors to go after silver, gold and all kinds of other resources, very well done. I very much enjoyed Emily & Julia working together to find the poison, it was nice to see how valuable their expertise is within an investigation; so now a little bit more of William & Julia together personally & professionally (in my opinion anyway) and I'll be fully enjoying this season again. This episode made me hopeful that we will see more story lines in future episodes where the whole team is involved together (let's hope anyway). I don't think I could have said it better myself.

Julia tenderly holding Williams injured arm was adorable. Whenerver any of the shows I watch deal with the removal of Natives from their lands, all I can do is just sit there and hold back the tears, and apologize. And the same sort of thing happend all over the world with the Natives. White settlers found some rare/money making natural resource and just went "NOPE" to the Natives and took it for themselves. What kind of broke me a little as well was Murdoch's unwavering faith in the government. He's like "They'll do the right thing." but the very next year-*coughSeason9cough* they don't.

William may have said the government were men of good conscience but he did also say let's hope they honour it, presumably meaning the treaty. I'm not so sure he did believe they would, he's not behind the door when it comes to politics.

Yep I'm psyched MM is doing more of that, though I'm sure the topic raises hacles in Canada as well as America. I still haven't seen it, but that's how the story alwys ends in the US, too - with a person of good will making a promise the government doesn't keep because of business interests or powerful voting lobbies, etc. I also recently learned the colonization process of Siberia and the other Eastern Soviet States was more or less the same. I do think railroads were the great enablers of this process.

YAY - finally got to watch this episode!!!
I thought it was great, and I think episodes of this caliber should have been front-loaded this season.
Loved George's new lock-picking skill, and I hope to see more of this type of skillset from him. LOL at "let the dog see the rabbit"!!!
LOL also and William denying George has yet another Aunt in Haileybury. At some point he became skeptical of the Aunts, and he wants an accounting...
I think Julia was in the wrong to put the Inspector's painting on public display without his permission, but I did love that bit of character development business. Also Tom Thompson was a RICH art student if he had $15 to pay for a painting - Henry is paid $10 in comparison.
I was sad that that the native guy turned himself in and the tribe moved on. He did save William's life. Technically he could have let them all be poisoned on their way into town and let the matter end there!
Also at the end William says the native guy started the fight. It was the prospector who started it by really obviously rerouting the train to stake his claim. Questions would have been raised from there no matter what. The natives were fighting a rearguard action.
MISSING SCENE! George apologizing profusely to Julia for letting her husband/his boss get shot.
I hope George writes a novel about this adventure - web series ahoy!

I found this episode better than the rest of the season but I'm still underwhelmed as I've been in previous episodes. There were brief funny moments but I found the rest boring. The writers have written good episodes but this felt like a filler and an excuse for another Murdoch/Crabtree road trip. As much as I do enjoy them, I miss Julia's expertise in cases and not just a 6minute experiment with Dr Grace.. I found it ooc for William to be surprised at Crabtree's lock picking skills, he himself found out what type of poison was being used when he was injured at the halfway house. I also wasn't surprised to see Murdoch back in his Klondike gear(I truly think Murdoch own three outfits:a church suit, his uniform and the Klondike outfit). And they hinted at brackenreid's artistic nature in the two-parter opener, when he using his painting as one of his excuses for not going back on the force. Im interested in the upcoming aslyum episode but Having Julia be a damsel in distress again is getting as old as having pendrick be suspected by William.
