I wasn't as cool as that but I was pretty sure we'd have a seat. I responded as soon as I got the email. I have my gmail account on my phone so as soon as it comes in I know w/o having to keep checking on the computer. It did fill up pretty fast though. You are just waaaaay more experienced than I am. I bow to your knowledge O Padawan Master! I am so obsessed that I am actively conniving to have our biannual family party (here at the cottage) take place in July this year so I am free to attend the as yet unannounced MM event that is unofficially taking place in August. Oh, yes, lovely area......I've watched the ice fishermen at Jackson's Point, and frankly, I think they are nuts.......I love being out in the cold, but being active, like XC skiing, romping with the dog or snowshoeing, but sitting in a hut watching a hole in the ice?

I can see Jackson's point from here...practically 45 degrees south east from here. My mission for next summer is finding out where the proposal was filmed. It was either on the west side of Cook's bay or on the east side across from Georgina or Thorah Islands. I'm stuck on thinking it's this side of the lake because I'm sure it is Fox Island in the background. Kempenfelt is a possibility, but I doubt it. Do you know??? I don't know, but when I first saw it, I was wondering if it was around Sibald Point with either Georgina or Snake Island in the background.....
(Remember the year the ice fissure opened at Jackson's Point on the ice fishermen and there was a mad scramble to get off the ice? I was in London when that happened and it made the front page of the Times.....with comments about crazy people sitting in an ice hut drinking beer and on rare occasions, catching a fish......)

Lol. Welcome to winter in Ontario. That happened between Jackson's Point and our cottage. If we had been here at the time we would have had a front row seat. I also want to go see Woodlands Estate on Kempenfelt Bay from the water this summer. |

I too thought it was Snake Island in the distance. I thought Fox Island was a little further north. We moored off Snake Island when my friend had a cottage and I'm sure we could see the shore in the distance. |
