That gives the Lillian theory a little more weight.

That gives the Lillian theory a little more weight. and the trailer is heavily implying she's gonna be the one to go... but maybe it isn't what it looks like. but then, i don't know how they're gonna keep emily on...or maybe they don't want to...i've heard that georgina wants off to pursue acting in l.a., with her hubby.

That is certainly what I took from the trailer.......and Lillian wasn't what she seemed.....however, they may be playing with us.....

I am sorry for Emily if it is Lillian as Emily sees something in her but the character is really annoying. She cannot seem to say anything without being caustic. In fact in the dictionary under caustic her picture must be there. I know her stand is difficult in those times and her family certainly treated her awful but geez... She must be one of those women who think all men should either be slaves or shipped to a desert island. Nothing is ever good enough for except leaving for England and taking Emily with her. I think they really wrote themselves into a corner with her. Death or exile might be the only acceptable end for the fans. Of course maybe that was the plan.

Dang it, I didn't get to see the preview for next week. If we're going with elaborate theories: Lillian has to fake her death because of some mafia thing (a la Walk on the Wild Side): Emily cries excellent fake tears to carry out the ruse, and in the end Emily has to escape to London either because she's in danger as a witness or the "dead" Lillian is waiting for her there.

In speaking of Murdochophobia, what happened to George's second book with the detective who was afraid of butterflies? Sherlock...now that would be a surprise twist! I haven't seen the preview: "She wasn't who she said she was" sounds interesting. Hope that doesn't mean not really a sapphist, lol! Let's see: Lillian is supposed to be from a wealthy family, and she lost her chance to finish college because she refused to marry some guy. Could she have been in some sort of witness protection to start over, instead?

I will be really disappointed in MM if they kill Lillian. The dead lesbian trope is overused and the show is better than that. I hope the trailer isn't what it looks like.

Could she have been in some sort of witness protection to start over, instead? Oh yeah...uh I guess it either never got finished or it was like that sexy story he wrote about Emily and the swan that never saw the light of day. Well, I kind of had that idea before...that Lillian had 'accidentally' killed someone doing something radical and then fled to Toronto under an alias. But that sort of thing is fairly cliched too. I'm hoping it isn't Lillian that's killed. Emily has other friends...I think (unless they were all murdered on the island?), so perhaps one of them gets killed and that's why Emily seems to be so distraught in the preview. And maybe she thinks of herself as some sort of black widow and blaming herself for things that aren't her fault. And perhaps the hubby or brother is angry with Emily for dragging her into the 'dangerous' suffragette stuff in the first place. But it sure looked like the man was breaking into 'their' house and Emily was hiding...

I can't find it either. It wasn't at the end of the episode and I can't find it on facebook or CBC player.
I have a feeling the dead suffragette isn't Lillian, but it'll be someone they know well. Emily could still easily end up going to London, it would get her away from the angry guy you've mentioned. Did it actually say it was Lillian he was talking about?

Because it was in the trailer, I have high hopes that it isn't what it looks like. But this wouldn't be the first time a preview/show description released an important plot spoiler.
