You mean I'm actually first to the party tonight? Still processing the episode, but heh, William and Julia getting high and heightened "desires". But only to have William cockblock himself as usual. And whaddya know, canon states that William was born in in 1863 per the show-aka "water pig". 1983, 1923, and 1863. I had to laugh when William said he wasn't hungry, it was obvious what Julia meant from the start even before she mentioned it. He was getting into it when Julia was looking at the dragon though. Maureen Jennings has his b'day as July 2, 1863 in the books but this is the first time it's been mentioned in the show. Notice they sidestepped Julia's b'day. Wasn't sure what to think of this ep. On the 3rd feed, may have made a decision by the 5th.

Waiting until hubby gets home for 2nd viewing (I'm home sick) but I think I liked it well enough-the nod to the orientalism of the era was good, and while I was pretty sure who did it, I wasn't sure of the motive. Can't say more without spoiling it. I laughed when William said he wasn't hungry too-she soooooo wasn't talking about food. But, yes, he did seem to be enjoying himself before he cockblocked himself.

Did anyone else think the opium experiment exactly mirrored the absinthe one in TGM??? Only difference is mutual willingness to complete the deed.... This time it was brown fairy. .. Julia already knew about Puffer fish from Beaton Manor. I get annoyed when they pretend it's a new concept. George: what year were you born Doctor? Julia: That's a very bold question to ask a lady... I LOVE that she completely avoided answer8ng! Since when is there a chalkboard in the morgue??? I found the interaction between Jula's and Rebecca very similar to that of Julia and William with reversal of the dominant character? It flowed nicely IMO and gave us even more insight to the extent of Rebecca's knowlege. William seems to be fine listening to R's contributions.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, but that timeline wasn't exactly accurate. I think that was the point. Michelle even hashtagged it GreenMuse2 I'm glad he wasn't fake dead at least...the druggie kept saying she was seeing him, so I almost thought they pulled the same 'zombie' gag again. Lol, I thought that was either because none of the writers themselves know...or it was a joke directed towards Helene, who won't tell. Emily used one in the bicycle ep. It's not completely unheard of. He's fine as long as Julia stays on top...wait what?

The official MM fb page has W's b'day as 1861 but if MJ says 1863 then I'll go with that. Yes it immediately brought back TGM. I think it was supposed to. I knew the puffer fish poison was in another ep but couldn't remember which one. It's not the first time something used in the past is somehow new again. There has been a chalkboard in the morgue for many seasons. The only thing that I wasn't sure of with Rebecca this ep was that things that Julia would have automatically thought of previously are now being assigned to R i.e. the pipe could have been poisoned.

More observations:
Julia commended George on his thoroughness collecting evidence, further proof that that a) he is back to Const 1st class as b) he was NOT promoted above his abilities as a detective. Would you take George or Det. MacDonald (Hangman) to investigate the death of your loved one???
Did anyone else find a similarity between the styling of Mr. Cummings and James Gillies? Super smart student, feeling thwarted, costuming....I'm not suggesting this character will become another Gillies, just noting the similarities.
Best AWWWWWW moment... " nothing could make my reality any better than it already is". You guys are giving us a marriage this season!!!!! W/J are sweet, loving, working together and kinda sexy. I wonder though why W and J decided to try opium at Dr. Lawrence's house rather than their suite. I understand the need plotwise...Julia going on about the dragon...but really...they both knew where that experience was going to lead....

Ah, look at Murdoch. He's so cute! Also, another portion of that scene: He's a rabbit. Definitely the rabbit.

Well, this ep was GM2 so Cummings could be JG2. But he better not be...or else. Because this show is rated PG, that's why. I thought it kind of odd they'd take drugs from someone they weren't 100% sure wasn't a murderer.

If this season has taught me anything, it's that there are a lot of cut scenes. I don't suppose they put them in the DVD extras, do they? Well, I suppose that depends on if these 'deleted' parts are actually filmed or not...
